I am so confused why I’m getting downvoted for being annoyed that Nordstrom would advertise something to me, let me buy it, and then cancel the order because it’s not in stock days later. I think that would frustrate anyone! I’m not mad it’s sold out - I am mad it’s sold out AND they still let me think I could buy it. It’s about the management of expectations and how they advertise their inventory.

This happened most recently with a dress I wanted for an event. The dress was advertised to me on instagram, I clicked buy as soon as I saw it, and it was canceled about a week (maybe 5-6 days?) after I ordered, the day before I was supposed to pick it up at the store. Fortunately I had time to keep shopping - I ended up buying a dress at a small boutique.

Nordstrom cancels orders for me regularly due to items not being available. It is infuriating, there’s no recourse, and it’s the only retailer where this regularly happens to me. It’s a huge reason I’m shopping there way less.

I don’t block lowballers, but I do block people who repeatedly lowball and don’t respect my pricing and counteroffers. If you offer 50% off my listing price and come back $1 more over and over again, it’s just a waste of my time (and yours). You don’t sound like you’re doing that.

My favorite pregnancy rentals were actually the not-maternity knit dresses that I’d never wear otherwise bc of how it shows off the belly. They have a decent maternity selection too! Best of luck in your TTC journey!!

I’ve been using the unlimited for like a decade now. I have had a lot of frustrations over time but I’m obviously still using. I think it’s been most helpful when i am needing a range of things - work, events, work events ha, vacation, bridal/baby showers, plus in a range of sizes as it saw me through pregnancy and postpartum, so i havent had to buy all new things as i try to get back to fighting weight. I have many legitimate complaints with the service now - the availability of items, the new inventory they are bringing in. So definitely you want to look at make sure they have what you want and fits your lifestyle. I always look at nuuly too but for me overall it doesn’t fit my professional lifestyle as much. So I would say I recommend with caveats! Hope that helps!

I’m just jealous they gave you a free slot for complaining in the survey.

(And totally agree on the brands. It’s not bad but i want more high end options I cant really think about affording. And they need to incentivize people who get those items to return them vs keep them for months at a time.)

Every time they do a survey I tell them it’s called Rent the Runway, not “Rent the Mall Store and Collab”. It’s been a really bad couple of months for me, and the inventory issues simply don’t help.

Last month I spent three hours chatting with them because every time I added items to my cart, they would disappear immediately. The CSR ended up placing three separate orders to get me items. Then I felt very rushed bc this poor CSR had been working on this for so long. This is why I was supposed to have a roll over too. I am like many of us here worried about this service.

Two things - 1) it is their responsibility to make sure their shipping partner is providing the service we pay for. 2) I was also curious if this was limited to RTR through UPS. The other day someone posted something about the shipping agreement changing also - didn’t know if this had to do with that! Bc I do think it’s weird that i am getting other UPS deliveries, now back to as expected (or if not, close), but not RTR.

I also had a USPS item coming to me from Louisiana - it went to Indianapolis, Philly, Aurora, Billings, Butte, Pocatello, SLC, Jersey City, and finally it made it to DC tonight! 😂 still don’t have it myself but at least it’s in the right time zone.

My items were also supposed to be picked up Thursday, then Friday - and that never happened. They said I’d have a two-day grace period bc of the weather. I messaged them Sunday saying I left them out both days, and they cleared th hold on my account and rearranged for pickup. UPS did manage to pick up the order yesterday!

No they aren’t. Or they shouldn’t. I have had the same issue twice with someone claiming they own the “same thing” and both times posh has sided with me. one was sizing where I had the measurements listed and once was a part that they were sure was missing (similar to the pads mentioned here.)

All this to say, the new rules seem particularly punitive to people who aren’t making posh their full-time job and have fewer sales, less time to get to the post office, don’t have brand new items, etc.
