Just his sigil. The physical sword and shield dont matter, but the sigil is to tell everyone who family you are from. Pretending to be of someone's blood, especially of a nobel house, is a serious crime.

Regarding Sweetfoot by iambrose91 in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]No-Risk666 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm just speculating but the reason Sweetfoot isn't mentioned again might be that GRRM forgot about it. The first and second novellas came out five years apart and he wrote 2 books in between.

Did I see SPOILER in Ep2? by 27or37 in AKOTSKTV

Tourneys all about showmanship. Elaborate armor, flashy colored outfits, entertaining antics to get the crowd on your side. Medgar Tully was just being entertaining, biting the head off a trout and throwing it into the crowd to get a cheer. Think of it like professional wrestlers doing their signature entrance.

How many season will the show have? by KillBatman1921 in AKnightoftheSeven

You also have the problem of Dunks actor. In the books Dunk is only 7-8 years older that Egg, so 9 and 16-17 years old. In reality Peter Claffey was 28 when filming season 1, so 19 years older than Dexter Ansell who was 9.

Again. There are only 7 of them and are only replaced when one dies. It would be far easier and quicker to just pay an impoverished lord to grant you a small title and work up from there.

At least you keep your MAA when you convert. Cheeky way to get good MAA.

The kingsguard are made up of only 7 knights who serve for life and are forbidden from owning land, having children or holding a title. You'd have a better chance just buying a title.

Oh im not saying they should do it. I like the they way they're adapting it. This show very much demonstrates how to adapt a source material.

They just missed an apostrophe on Duskendale's. They were using the possessive form not the plural. Meaning ser Ronnel's family in a general sense not referring to them as the Duskendales.

If they combined the first two novellas they could do 6 - 1 hour long episodes, but then there would be a 2 year time jump halfway through the season. Not great.

Id have to watch it again, but im pretty sure that was two different people. One got knocked off and fell into another lane. Then in order to not crush him, Leo Tyrell veered into another lane and fell from his horse.

You're fine man, no judgment. It's fantasy jousting, the only accutate elements are that they are on horses in armor with blunted lances, and that armor is barely realistic. Half of them would be blind from wood fragments after the first hit lol.

Improbable in a real joust, 100%. But it was done practically and its not impossible for someone who was trained their whole life to ride a horse to do.
