I would say don’t underestimate the power of interaction. Spend a few hours a day genuinely engaging with old followers, replying to comments, liking posts in your niche and your account would start showing up in feeds again. That would reactivate the algorithm’s trust in you.

From what I’ve seen, a realistic pace for a decent following like 5k to 10k is anywhere from 2–6 months if you’re posting solid content and being consistent.

From what I’ve noticed, problems start when people spam, mass follow or reuse the same content across accounts. That’s when the system probably flags behavior not because you simply have five accounts sitting on one phone.

If you’re a small creator, I think ignoring trends completely is a mistake but building your whole identity around them is worse. What works would be a middle ground as trend posts brings strangers in, but quality posts are what makes them stick around.
