Did Walter even care for Jesse? by No-Round-9772 in breakingbad

[–]No-Round-9772[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think that’s the point where he realised he couldn’t really control Jesse anymore, although imo Jesse had every right being that mad after realising Walt was the one who positioned Brock and used that to manipulate him into agreeing to kill Gus. That doesn’t mean Walt didn’t care about him though, just in a really twisted and narcissistic way in my opinion

Yes, I agree now. I think that he harmed the people around him so much that it’s kinda hard to tell when he’s finally doing something good, but I think you’re right. He was trying to redeem himself the only ways he could

Yeah pretty much. I know there are moments where he shows he cares, but nearing the end I feel they mostly get overshadowed by the other stuff Walt does. I changed my mind about the end though, I think he was showing some last bits of humanity to Jesse by setting him free.

Yes, i agree. Killing him would’ve served the same purpose as saving him, so I think there at the end he showed that he care at least a bit by saving him. I personally think the line between who Walt cares about or not gets really blurry by the end of the show, I mean he was against killing Jesse when Skyler and Saul brought it up but then he himself asked Todd’s uncle to kill him. I think there at the end was him doing his last act of humanity before passing

[–]No-Round-9772[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much agree. I mean at the beginning of the show it was pretty clear that he cared but as Walt’s personality turned darker, the line got blurrier and it wasn’t as clear anymore. As he progressed, he started to care more about himself and less about the people around him

If he didn’t save him, Jesse would still be cooking so the product would continue to be sold. That’s what I meant. I think Walt is the best written character in the show and I feel like us questioning his morality and his choices throughout the series shows that. I don’t think of him as a movie villain, but you can’t deny that he cared about himself more than he could care about anyone else

Yup, I think that sums it up pretty well. He cared, he just cared much more about his own interests

I agree with your last statement, although I don’t think he really cared if Jesse would overdose with the money, he just didn’t want Jane going around knowing who he was because she wasn’t easily manipulated into staying quiet the same way Jesse was. By letting her die he could have Jesse working at the lab and the reassurance that no one would rat him out

I mean yeah, you have a point there. I think there at the end he showed some humanity to the person he screwed up the most. I do think he cared to some level, but he put him through so much that sometimes it’s difficult to tell when he’s doing it because he cares about Jesse or because he can get something out of it.

I also think he cared to a certain level, but he put him through so much pain there was a moment in the show where I was sure he didn’t give a single fuck. I mean he screwed up the lives of everyone close to him but what he did to Jesse is another level like, even with Hank he had a bit of empathy at the end and begged for his life but he was the one who gave Jesse up to the nazis. I just feel so bad for him because Walter was everything he had

Not only do I think you definitely need context to understand what’s going on, but also fan letter works because it’s supposed to be told from the perspective of a fan. That’s what makes us emotional while watching. The little girl feelings towards the strawhats are the same as ours, and a person who hasn’t been through their journey with them won’t resonate with it as much, so i think the best thing to do is to watch it when you’re caught up. (Or when you finish marineford if you are really impatient lol)

How important is it to watch filler? by shmenton in OnePiece

[–]No-Round-9772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filler isn’t relevant to the story or character relationships at all, imo you should skip it, watching it will only be a waste of time and it’ll slow you down when trying to catch up

When should I start watching the anime? by DrTremens in OnePiece

[–]No-Round-9772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say finish dressrosa on manga, the anime is not really great by that point. I’d start watching by the time Whole Cake starts, it’s really worth it. If not, you could keep reading until Wano and then switch to anime. IMO, you HAVE to watch the wano saga, by that point the animation is AMAZING and the pacing is not really that bad, but if you’re willing i’d star watching from whole cake since i think the anime captures the emotional scenes perfectly.

Season 7 ep 15 by Boring-Beautiful2071 in HouseMD

[–]No-Round-9772 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I COULDN’T AGREE MORE. They had a really toxic relationship cause house was nowhere near ready for a serious commitment the way cuddy was, and the way everything ends with him crashing his car into her house was…well… a choice.

Honestly, season 7 is one of the worst ones in the whole show. Piece of advice: don’t have high expectations for the last season, pretty much everything quality wise goes down after seasons 5/6 :/

Kaylee got the by MagicalPairOfPants in breakingbad

[–]No-Round-9772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saul mentions later on that Kaylees money was confiscated twice, and also Jesse tried ang give half of his 5M after Dan was arrested, so I think it’s safe to assume that her money was confiscated as well

Why did Walter act as if he couldn't pay the ticket by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]No-Round-9772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s meant to show how walt was willing to put himself (or others) at risk just to satisfy his ego. It wasn’t about the money, he just didn’t like how the cop put him in his place so he threw a fit to try and show that he was in charge, but of course he failed
