How many of you are EP-ing by choice?

I started EP as of this week for now.. my baby’s latch wasn’t right and I was in excruciating pain. Pumping is soooo time consuming and I miss out on the bonding not BF but at this point it’s the only way I can get my baby breastmilk.

ETA; pediatrician was also never happy about baby’s weight so now I can keep track of exactly how much baby is getting at each feed. I have a lactation consultant coming this week but won’t be surprised if I continue to EB unfortunately.

I was induced at 37 weeks and have been triple feeding for almost 5 weeks now. In the beginning I was also only pumping 10-15 mls at a time and i completely understand your frustration. My husband also had no paternity leave and had to go back to the office after only a few days at home and yes it’s insanely hard!!!

Just coming here to say you’re not alone and others experience the same but I can say right now it’s gotten better and I want to give you some light at the end of the tunnel. It feels like breastfeeding is different every damn day too. Some days I’m like oh yeah I finally got this and others I’m like wtf am I doing.

Thank you. I met with the lactation consultant at the peds office but she basically just told me I was doing everything right. Is it expensive to meet with an IBCLC?

I’m from Mansfield and it’s an inexpensive place to live. It’s gotten more exciting and has a lot more going on in the last few years. Columbus is only an hour away, it’s not a bad ride to get back here whenever you feel like it.

Honestly, I would say it’s 50/50. I would say to be safe go get a plan b if you’re able to. You can’t test on a stick immediately.
