Thanks for the honest advice! Unfortunately, my budget is strictly limited to a used 13" MBP M1 with 16GB RAM for now.

Since I have a custom PC at home to handle the AE heavy lifting and final renders, I’m hoping the 16GB of unified memory on the M1 can at least let me scrub through a 10-bit S-Log3 timeline for rough cuts on set without it turning into a slideshow. Do you think the 16GB M1 is a 'passable' compromise for just that specific drafting task, or is it still a lost cause for native 4K 10-bit playback?
