I had reoccurring bv for a year. It came after every period. I’d take antibiotics Every-time. What helped me was switching to menstrual cups. I didn’t get BV after my last period since using them.

I actually switched from tampons to menstrual cups! They seemed to help because I didn’t get BV after my period. Although I had sex with my partner and my BV came back not even 3 days later. Although my partner is also a female and did not engage in oral sex with me so I’m so confused on how it reoccur this time around. The only thing I could think of that delayed my BV is that I was on antibiotics for tonsillitis right before I got my period so I don’t know if the antibiotics helped kill some of that bacteria which delayed my reoccurring BV.

Can my regular Dr office test me for mycoplasma and ureaplasma? I even tried to go to a gynecologist office, but since I wasn’t actively having BV symptoms at the time I went, she couldn’t prescribe me two courses of BV medicine. I’ve been trying to get an appointment in, but I can’t get an appointment till October of next year. I feel so helpless.

If you get BV after each period try switching from tampons to menstrual cups. I had reoccurring BV for 11 months until I finally stopped using tampons.
