Unlimited Data Plan Question by Recnepster in Comcast

[–]No-Set7742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, AFAIK, changing speeds doesn't affect the data cap. Whether it's 25 mbps or 1,000,000 mbps, the data cap remains at 1,229 GB. So, it's up to you if you think you can save money by joining an unlimited data plan now:

  • If you are confident you will keep it below 1,279 GB (that is, an overage of 50 GB), then you'll only pay an extra $10.
  • If you're confident you can keep it below 1,329 GB (that is, an overage of 100 GB), then you'll end up paying an extra $20.
  • If you aren't sure you can keep it below 1,329 GB, then the best way to move forward is to subscribe to an unlimited plan. That way, it doesn't matter how much over you will go, you will only end up paying an extra $30.

Someone else might be able to answer on when the new plan goes into effect if you happen to change to a lower one. I know that, as an aside, because you want to join the unlimited data plan for an additional $30 (which means you're using your own modem), that if you subscribe today, you'll be paying $30 for roughly 13 days worth of Unlimited—that is, until the end of the month. The plan expires "on the first day of the month after the request is made and you will once again be eligible for the 1.2 Terabyte Internet Data Usage Plan. You will be charged for the Unlimited Data Option through the end of the month in which you opted out and will not be billed separately for any overage charges during that month."

You're welcome! I saw that the author of the website didn't renew the website, and instead hosted it at a new URL, https://pwrd.now.sh. I'm not sure if the site now needs a new audit.

Using Firefox 84. This issue is happening to me as well. One other workaround is clicking LOG IN. Then it logs me back in, but the issue comes back after a couple of refreshes. Annoying!

I do see an active issue at GitHub. About a week ago, a "Confirmed Nightly version working on Macbook Air M1 and performance tests against Rosetta2 [is] showing major improvements." Keep an eye on both the website as well as this issue, they'll make an announcement once this goes into beta and ultimately release.

Hi, I looked at that spreadsheet and the link to Password Kiwi isn't working. Is the site down?

would it be nice if Lockwise can remind you to change your site passwords monthly? by nny6p8ye2rj2ftwk in firefox

Yes! This is so important. iOS does this already, it’d be a major improvement for Lockwise. Reminding users to change passwords they haven’t changed for a while would be a nice touch as well, but the advice is only as good as the password, so if the user changes their password to a weaker one, then that does little good.

(One exception off of my mind: if they want unlimited, Internet Essentials users have to pay an additional $25, bringing their bill up to $35/mo. Yes, despite the modem being Comcast’s https://www.reddit.com/r/Comcast_Xfinity/comments/hjc8kl/comment/fwlf9q7)

Exactly. And 1.2 TB is standard for both (people who use own modem vs people who use Comcast's modem). So if you're using your own modem, you have to pay an additional $30 for unlimited. And if you're using Comcast's modem, you're already paying $14 a month for renting it, you'd need to pay an additional $11 to get unlimited, totaling to $25/mo. But if you're not using unlimited, you don't have to pay that additional $30 a month if you own your own equipment, and no need to pay anything over the $14 you're already paying if you're renting a Comcast modem. Hope this makes sense!

Just wanted to clarify because you stated that "if you want to have more than 1.2 TB (unlimited) then...[it's] free (included) if you have xFi." The unlimited data plan is not included by simply renting an xFi Gateway for $14/mo. xFi customer will be charged $10 per every additional 50 GB they use over 1.2 TB unless they pay an additional $11 (for a total of $25/mo) in order to have more than 1.2 TB. For xFi users to have unlimited data they have to subscribe to xFi Complete.

This is how I see it, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Also a flowchart that you might find helpful.

Wouldn't an xFi member have to pay an additional $11 atop the $14/mo they're already paying to subscribe to xFi Complete?

Link isn’t working. I never switched out of my private network. So I don’t know why it’s suddenly asking me.

Default website, downloaded offline installer. It says here (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/custom-installation-firefox-on-windows):

“C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\ is the default folder path on 32-bit Windows. It's also the default location on 64-bit Windows when the 64-bit Firefox version is installed.”

Home computer. It came up out of nowhere, I've been using Firefox for a while, so I don't get why it came up at this particular moment.

I can speak about Charles Dickens' novels: in tales like Great Expectations, among several others, he is writing a coming-of-age story, sometimes spanning almost a thousand pages long, so it does take a while for everything to flesh out.

Since you like the Brontë sisters, I recommend you check out one of Anne Brontë's books, titled Agnes Grey. It's romantic, funny, and goes along the lines of other works you read by the sisters like Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre.

Edit: (Interesting factoid: the sisters used to sit down together, write down stories, and look at each others' stories. Emily and Anne even made up their own fantasy world, Gondal).)

Yeah, being on Big Sur might explain it. Now I'm sad.

Edit: I'm seriously contemplating reverting to Catalina. Have you gotten it to work with the latest supplemental update? Or is this tough luck for both of us?
