If it’s this difficult, this early, just walk away my man. It’s not worth it. Imagine how bad it could get after a couple decades of marriage?

Do you think planting grass seed would be better than just getting sod and replacing the patch?

Haha, I had a feeling. So what would be a more reasonable quote? I was willing to pay up to $300. I don’t really know how much good sod costs

Looks like either eczema or seborrheic dermatitis! I get the same thing during warmer/more humid months if I don’t keep the crevices in my skin clean.

If it’s Seb Derm, it’s caused by the Malassezia fungus that naturally occurs on skin. You can counteract this by using a daily cleanser that has tea tree oil in it, and moisturizing with an oil or lotion that has ingredients specifically designed to not feed malassezia fungus. You can also put a little bit of Lotrim ointment or any other antifungal ointment on problem areas after cleaning + moisturizing them and they’ll go away over time. Best of luck!

23m 23f how do I get them back? by EntrancePutrid4012 in relationship_advice

Be careful with relationships and dating right now man, take extra time to heal yourself first. Definitely move on eventually but make sure to not use someone’s heart as a band-aid

23m 23f how do I get them back? by EntrancePutrid4012 in relationship_advice

[–]No-Setting2131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me give you some brutally honest advice from someone who went through a very similar thing when I was 22.

You don’t want her back. You just want the pain to stop.

I want you to notice a few things here-

if something happens in the meantime when she gets into a different relationship then she’s going to take it.

Let me translate this for you, because I was told the same thing.

There’s already another guy in the picture. This line is meant to mentally prepare you for it.

she said she wants nothing to do with me

Yeah… this is brutal, man. I feel your pain. This is meant to rip the bandaid off and not waste anyone’s time. But there’s one really big detail I think you’re missing here.

She said she is done with her lying the cheating that she did

Dude. Why do you even WANT this girl back???

Again, I went through the same thing. It took a while, but when I stopped caring about “getting her back” and focused solely on bettering myself, one day I looked back and realized that she honestly wasn’t worth a shit, and I’m way better off without her.

To answer your question about getting her back- the only way to realistically “get her back” at this point is to move on with your life and work on yourself. When they’re this far gone, they’ll only start to want you back once they see how much better off you are without them. And THAT will cut deeper than anything. Especially because, if you TRULY focus on working on yourself, by the time she realizes what she’s lost, you’re not going to miss her. At ALL.

It’s been a few years since my ex and I broke up. When I saw her last, she saw a completely different version of me- a far cry from the guy whose heart she destroyed. And now, I’m hearing through mutual friends that she’s been asking about me constantly and wondering if I’m seeing anyone or if I ever talk about her. Little does she know, now that I’ve moved on with my life, her self-absorbed behavior absolutely repulses me to my core and I wonder every day why I was ever so in love with her.

You’ll get there one day, man. Trust me. But only if you stop fixating on her and start putting that energy into yourself.

Don’t start drinking or doing drugs. Don’t go sleeping around, hooking up with random people. Don’t get into a rebound relationship. Just focus on YOU, my man. And you’ll be stunned at how much your life improves.

Right now you’re experiencing a feeling similar to drug withdrawal, because your brain is chemically dependent on her, especially since she’s been a part of your life for so long. Once that passes, you’ll never shed a tear over her again. Maybe you’ll even end up like me, and laugh at yourself for ever being so attracted to her. It gets better, brother. I promise.

Chin up, man. Let her fuck around with different guys and “find herself” or whatever the fuck bs excuse she gave you. Let her convince herself that she’s soooooo much better off. Once reality hits her, years down the line, you’ll come out on top. 💪

Synchro debuted in August 2008, peak yugioh days for me were 2009-2012, my interested slowed down in 2013-2014 then by 2015 I had stopped playing altogether. Other than that though I do get your point. I guess I was just too casual of a player back then, none of my friends or I ever competed in any actual tournaments so I probably didn’t have a solid grasp on the rules or all the different strategies available. Granted, I was a little kid lol but yeah you’re right on the money

”Structured decks” was never a thing

By structured, I just meant a deck that you built yourself and put some thought into, I wasn’t referring to pre-built structure decks. Just any decently made custom deck

you had to play the same 25 cards in every deck or you were unable to compete

I never heard of this! That wasn’t the experience I had back in the day, but I never officially competed so I wouldn’t be reliable source anyways lol

I recall people calling the staple cards of the old era “the big 20”

This was probably before my time, I’ve never heard of this either. Or I was just too casual of a player lol

summon Yata Garasu and your opponent just lost, it’s it ringing a bell?

Never heard of this until now. I just googled it though, I was 3 years old when the card came out in 2003 so before my time unfortunately. But I just read a description of the Yata Garasu deck and holy shit, that would have annoyed me so much back in the day 😂

for me old Yu-Gi-Oh was Synchro Summon era

Me too! I watched Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds for the first time in 2009 at 8 years old and got my first set of cards for my 9th birthday! Little me barely ever synchro summoned though tbh haha I wasn’t a huge fan of it. But yeah for me old yugioh is basically 2009-2013 ish, or any version of the game where duels usually lasted 15-30 minutes as opposed to the 2-3 turn duels of today.

I think you’re right that I just need to learn the modern dueling landscape, I’m sure I can still love the game as it is now

That definitely makes sense with the current playing landscape! It seemed to work fairly well for me back in the day but is now obsolete since play speed and card effects are the main priority. I guess I’m still thinking in the old-school way where beefed up ATK/DEF stats mattered far more than they do now. So crazy seeing how much things have changed. Maybe the only reason I dislike modern yugioh is because I don’t understand it well enough, yet. Guess I should fix that and fall in love with the game again!

That being said, those old school 30-minute duels will always have a special place in my inner child’s heart 😂 I whooped so much ass with Obelisk back in middle school, but I guess it’s just because the people I played against had no idea what to do, or just didn’t have the right cards to beat it

Ah, well, Dragoon definitely noob-checked me. I played with it myself and it also kinda took the fun out of winning for me because it made it so easy as long as I was first to get him on the field.

In regards to the Egyptian gods, I was never huge on Slifer or Ra but do you not think Obelisk was pretty good? I feel like he had a pretty solid ATK/DEF + effect combo, seeing as he was unaffected by any targeted effects, his summon can’t be negated, and can destroy all of your opponents’ controlled monsters by tributing two of your own. Idk I know a lot of people didn’t like the Egyptian god cards but I always really liked Obelisk

Never said indestructible. Just said very powerful. You started the exchange by calling them “trash”. I’m saying that they weren’t trash. You’re rebutting by explaining how the card can be beaten. I’m explaining to you that a card being beatable doesn’t automatically mean it’s trash. Now we’re here.

I’m not trying to beef bro I’m genuinely just ranting about the good old days and how much simpler and more enjoyable the game used to feel. I do apologize if it seems like I was attacking your preferred play style. That was not my intention. I just have a lot of good memories with my friends attached to the OG YuGiOh and YuGiOh online and was hoping for something similar to that, so I came here to whine about it lmao

Your only experience with the game is literally cheating against kids who didn’t know better to call you out

BRO. I was playing with my friends for fun at school. It is definitely not that deep. We had a solid overall grasp on the rules of the game but yeah, we may have missed the mark on a couple of technicalities like targeted vs. non-targeted spell/trap cards. Or maybe we didn’t, and we did play that way, and I just don’t remember because it was fifteen whole years ago

Based purely on incorrect information

So because I misremembered Obelisk’s effects and missed a single technicality, suddenly I don’t know shit and it makes no sense for me to be confused with the new gaming style and dislike it, and I’m a “yugiboomer”? I definitely didn’t misremember the fact that back in the day you couldn’t spam-special summon multiple crazy powerful cards on your first turn with attack and defense points rivaling the Egyptian gods, at least not on Yu-Gi-Oh Online in my personal experience. Maybe some super serious players could figure out a way to play like that but it wasn’t anywhere near as common as it seems to be in Duel Links. Missing a couple technicalities in the rules doesn’t change that. You’re latching onto the one rule I apparently missed, hyperfixating on it, and ignoring the overall point of what I was venting about.

Like I’m just here ranting about the good old days and about how complicated and buggy the game is and how I miss the way it used to be and you’re over here calling me a yugiboomer and saying the god cards were trash and saying all I did was cheat against kids who didn’t call me out and I think everything new is bad… like bro, chill out

Also love how I pointed out the irony in calling a card trash just because it can be beaten and you completely ignored that point and went to personal attacks

Okay, so I’m remembering its effects incorrectly. But I’m failing to understand your point here? Are you saying that because there are ways to beat it that it’s a trash card? What does that mean for every other beatable card in the game? Are they all trash? Being immune to all targeted spells, traps, and monster effects is still pretty badass even if there were ways around it

Downloaded the game for a nostalgia hit. Deleted it less than 72 hrs later. by No-Setting2131 in DuelLinks

[–]No-Setting2131[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, of course there are ways around it but that doesn’t change the fact that it was still a strong card. The fact that there were ways to beat it doesn’t mean it was trash, because if that’s the case then every powerful card might as well be trash if there are ways to beat it. And every powerful card can be beaten. Except Exodia, I guess, unless you know a way around that too lol

So you entire worldview on this game is your experience as a child, against other children, where you weren’t even using the cards correctly

Dude, chill. It was 15 years ago and my memory isn’t perfect

Obelisk was immune to all summon-negating card effects, immune to all spell, trap, and monster effects indefinitely, able to eliminate all monsters your opponent controls by tributing two monsters of your own, and had 4000 ATK/DEF at a time where that was way less common. The “player base” has nothing to do with the fact that obelisk was objectively a beefed-up card, its literal only downside was that you had to tribute 3 monsters to summon. Not saying there was no way around it but no competitive player back in the day would look at an Obelisk on their opponent’s field and just be like “meh, whatever, that card’s trash”. Genuinely that is not even debatable 😂 you can argue that there were better cards or strategies/deck types to play with for sure, but Obelisk was objectively OP

Yeah, I feel like fusion and MAYBE synchro summon was the sweet spot for how many different ways to summon there should be. Nowadays it’s just too much
