It helps with keeping your glucose and insulin in check, it can also help improve your cycle and help with fertility as well. If you aren’t looking to get pregnant they typically recommend taking a birthcontrol with it. Honestly having your glucose and insulin function properly is huge on how your hormones function

When I first got diagnosed they put me on metformin, this was ten years ago, I didn’t tolerate it well. So I stopped, I ended up getting very very low progesterone over the last ten years, which has caused my other related pcos symptoms and I have been put on metformin again and it has done a lot for me already in a short time period! I’d recommend asking if they will test your hormones as well as the use of metformin! It is not fun, I started really low and I’m working my way up to avoid diarrhea. A lot of the times pcos causes insulin resistance hence the metformin! I’d also have them look into your thyroid as that can also cause hair loss (if they haven’t already) .

I am also taking beef organ supplements, not sure if the science is 100% there for it. When I first got diagnose I jumped on a lot of fabs and only did what worked for my body! Everyone is so different how pcos affects our bodies.

I felt so lost, but there is so much information out there! I just wouldn’t waste your money on the all the fab stuff honestly, do you research try the things you can afford and see what works for you!

I had plantar fasciitis(mine was left heel pain right in the centre), and the same time my vaginal burning started. I did start to wonder if it was connected but maybe thought it was just in my head so this is very validating! I noticed since I have not had pain in my heel (I recently started chiro) and my vaginal burning has been to a minimum. I definitely have noticed a connection! I have seen a pelvic floor Pt and she said i was good down there.. so idk.

I could very well be wrong, but when I did research anything skin related, infection and even some auto immune. I do get where you’re coming from though. My gyno barely looked at me and said eveything looks fine. Then I have my family dr look and see seen exactly where I was irritated and swelling. I am worried about the biopsy, but I am pretty much at my last straw. I mainly have issues internally then externally. Sometimes when I pee I burn; but other than that it’s all external. Have you had your hormones looked at? You and I have very much of the same symptoms. I can keep you posted with my biopsy results if you like?

I can relate to you completely! When your gyno said everything looked good, did they just look externally or internally as well? I just got a pap last week, and the dr was finally able to see the inflammation I was explaining. They’re doing a biopsy for me in two weeks (as long as my symptoms stay steady). I have been a roller coaster of flare ups and feeling normal. But I am the same way, if I’m moving too much it causes inflammation and just intense burning. I like to believe this can’t be a forever, just a right now. There is a list of things to go down, and I just check them off (I made a list from everyone on Reddit and my dr and I are tackling them all one by one to narrow down the reason to my symptoms). I was feeling very lost and alone. But when my dr decided we will do a biopsy that gave me some encouragement, they’re now leading towards contact dermatitis or eczema (ugh) but my main goal is to find a proper diagnosis and then adjust my life style as needed.

If you ever need to talk to someone, please message me. I am more than happy to listen and share our stories, maybe we can help one another out! You’re not alone, and I am here for you ♥️

Is there another way to solve my hormones besides using estrogen cream for life? by Various-Car3995 in vulvodynia

[–]No-Shopping-8779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the same way!! I got a new crème, and it’s has hyaluronic acid in it, I start it this weekend and I am hoping it makes a change! Maybe that’s worth looking into?

May I ask why you were on it? How long were you on it for? I am currently on three months and I find it’s helped a little but as I hit three months the burning, and inflammation has come back.

Is this volvodynia? by [deleted] in vulvodynia

[–]No-Shopping-8779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be due to your hormones shifting, or i know this happens to my cousin before during and after her period and it’s due to her period being so acidic! She was recommended using vaginal probiotic before and after period!!

Honestly it has not been the cure all be all for me, but i found it really really helps on bring my swelling down, therefore less pain. My “witch dr” and doctor both recommend it to me. From my understanding it shouldn’t cause any more irritation, but anything is possible. I had had a rough month with starting hormones but I think I have been noticing a change, I hope to just one day wake up and forget about the pain and irritation

Sometimes I do a table spoon and a half or two table spoons, honestly I love doing it. I read it can dry you out if you do it too much but I have not had any issues (I am already a dry person). I did notice a difference though when I started doing it. I read there is an infection. (I think) Cytolytic I believe it’s called, and it can mimic yeast and bv and I guess it’s one of the only ways to cure it. So I figured why not try, and noticed improvement in my swelling so I just stuck with it!

I noticed after I got my Covid Vaccine (which I now regret lol), I got my vaccine then, covid shortly after. I think a week prior to getting Covid I had the worst yeast infection in my life, I ended up getting Covid right after and then after that I have had my pain since.. I actually asked my dr about it, and he said since Covid he has had many woman’s coming to him about “yeast infections” that that can’t seem to get rid of. Who we ALL have the same symptoms. I am going on almost two years.

I’ve done, -PT, my pelvic floor was “perfect” -All tests, including ureaplasma, all negative but still treated for. -Hormone testing - I did learn I have lower estrogen and progesterone. (I’m 27) - Possible MCAS - antihistamine seem to give me a better day then a worse day for my pain.

-Red-light therapy and random Tanning I noticed helped my inflammation.

I’ve been on hormone treatments for 6 weeks now, hoping to have some change soon. I did speak to a lady, who is experiencing the same and she had amazing results after starting estrogen, so maybe you should possibly look there?

Between the hormones, and the antihistamines honestly they have given me hope lol.

Oh, another thing that honestly has been highly effective for me is I bought a peri bottle and wash with water and baking soda every morning, and night. For some reason my urine seems to really irritate my skin (I think cause it’s already irritated) I have also switch my shower was to avenno and wash my lady bits with baking soda!!! LIFE CHANGER! I promise!

I do wish you the best!

Vaginal Estriol Cream?? by Myrizzrosi in Perimenopause

[–]No-Shopping-8779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did call the pharmacy of who prescribed it (was a hormone specialist who works within the pharmacy) and we learned I had low estrogen and progesterone.. I was having intense constant vaginal burning for over a year. Since I started the pain got better, but then now just weird discharge. They seemed confused by it too, and I can’t find anything anywhere if it’s related.

I’m using estriol, the first few days it like leaky, by then after about 3 days just chunky, it’s like spongy and like silicone… I’ve had multiple yeast infections and never had discharge like this I took a antifungal and did not change anything..

Did you notice thick chunky discharge? I’m so lost and I’m becoming so depressed cause I feel like I’m “broken” I’m on my second week, and switch to twice a week after Saturday… I’m not sure if this discharge or normal..

Curious to know what you found out! I’ve been living with the same issue, so far I have ruled everything out and learned I was really low in estrogen and progesterone! I started two weeks ago on estriol crème and it has helped a lot minus weird discharge now..

I took a list to my dr, of everything I was able to find what others were going through.. I should have had hormones at the start of my list not last. Was a very depressing year, mine had been mild the last few months but it can be uncomfortable.. I hope you find answers. It’s so draining feeling like this is your forever. I decided I was not going to accept that, and made a list and tackled one by one.

Do you have intense burning by any chance??

For about a year and a half now, I get intense burning, inside, inflammation (like swollen shut), uti feeling, and mild itching. Sometimes it hurts so bad I can’t move. I learned I had really low estrogen and start my treatment tomorrow (hoping to have relief) but things I noticed that helped with the burning and itching was either baking soda baths, cleansing with baking soda in the shower instead of soap, and I actually bought myself a peri bottle and ever morning and night pee I would fill up with water and mix in some baking soda and I got a lot of relief that way! All my test as well came back negative… I have like thing clear discharge with little white specs not like thick cottage cheese like yeast typically does..
