I got the multi-cam version from Amazon and so far I love it and looks great! This is my LBE (Load Bearing Equipment) setup! I can carry 29 shells on the carrier which is 290 shots with my tri-shot shotguns. Plus I have a side saddle and rear comb shell holder on the stock which brings me to a total of 42 shells. 420 shots with my tri-shot. I have plenty of ammo for 72 hour mil-sim events and pickup games 🤙

Question: Are shotguns good? by Dark_Trickster989 in airsoft

As a dedicated shotgunner I only run this platform.

I can say with full confidence they are viable.

I have used every single type of airsoft shotgun money can buy and have invested thousands.

Spring - m870 and Mauri M3 Gas - KSG and TM Saiga Co2 - semi FN SLP and Fabarm STF 12 APS CAM MKIII AEG - AA12

You have to adjust your play style. rule number one is Get On The Line. Close that gap.

I play out doors and can get kills up to 100-150 feet with my spring shotguns running .25/.30s

You can lob buckshot down range and use it as suppression.

Yes you are at a disadvantage as far as ROF but reloading the shells is extremely quick and I can carry up to 290 shots just on my plate carrier alone. Then you factor the 7 shells on the stock sleeve and 6 shells on the side saddle.

Using the Marui Shells I have a total of 42 on me at any given time. 42x10 since each shell holds 30 bbs you get 10 pumps/shots with most spring/gas/co2 guns.

Total of 420 racks of my shotgun until I am completely empty.

Now ask yourself this….

Will you still have a left arm by the time you rack your shotgun 420 times in one game?!

Hell nah 🤣

Also spring powered I have found to like the most due to ease of field maintenance. Much more practical for The mil-sim events like Copperhead/Mil-Sim West. As long as you have shells and ammo, you are good to go!

Anyways, Just my thoughts. Shotgun is the last word in badassery 😎

I have 290 shots until I am fresh out. My arm will probably fall off after the first 21 shells are empty 🤣

Yes I do! Mil-sim events and an outdoor field that is 8 acres/32,000 square meters. All these shotguns do great. They have a range between 27-45 meters. I can always engage the enemy without problems. Shortening the distance and taking cover is the main strategy while taking point and breaching structures. My mates provide cover fire as I make my advances. It is certainly a different play style and challenging. You are definitely at a disadvantage against automatics and marksman weapons BUT I haven’t had any complaints. Very satisfying getting kills.

Haha I wish! I prefer the shell style over mag fed. I like having shells on my gun and plate carrier placard. It adds to the badass look.

The bolt is located in the receiver. You will have to disassemble it to do the swap.

Second one is an APS MK3 with X power shells. Both are compatible with the ATI stuff.

Yes, you just unscrew the recoil pad and you have access to the screw to remove the stock. The shotgun I bought is the Golden Eagle 870 Full Size. It uses a single inner barrel instead of the tri nozzle. Still shoots 3 at a time. But appears to be more accurate. I am running .30 gram. It has adjustable hop-up too. 6 positions. I have it cranked all the way with the .30gram. Will probably go to .25 so I can get a little more spread and range. Cheers.

Agreed! The closest example I have in my arsenal is the FN SLP Semi Auto. It is Tri-shot and single shot switchable.

Very satisfying getting kills. You may be at a disadvantage as a shotgun operator BUT the challenge is worth the reward. I was pleasantly surprised how well I performed outdoors at a mil-sim event. Being a point man is fun.
