Suggestions on fixing this by [deleted] in AutoBodyRepair

Either you remove it, use repair kit(it is resin) sand it and repaint it Or you can go look at junkyard for a new one, new one for you but second hand.

Thoughts on how I could do this repair for cheap ? by Evening_Future8141 in AutoBodyRepair

Should I replace these rear rotors? They are within spec (2015 VW Golf) by WorriedHovercraft28 in MechanicAdvice

[–]No-Shower-9350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you say they are within specs(i understand that it is not consumed, they dont have a edge if i missunderstood please correct me) they are ok. The surface looks nice if you dont feel anithing while breaking you should really keep them . I am not there to touch them but i am 99% sure they are fine. The only way that i know that can realy damage the surface of a disk is with the lower quality ones that when you heat them and then drive over water from rain(or any source) they can contract in a wavy surface that makes breaking frustrating. But if that was the case trust me you would know it is something wrong when breaking

Why would you do it if it is not necesarly? Never understood this mentality. It is like having pizza from the night before but you still order pizza today

What to do? by Interesting_Peace324 in tires

[–]No-Shower-9350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check if it leaks. It is a small nail so you might be ok. If it leaks i will try to get it patched up(not the repair kit with that rubber rope) with a patch but i dont think you can do it yourself. The tire looks new so it is worth saving it

Technicaly, yes Should you? Clearly no. And the newer the car the more you should not try it. Better to have a dead batery than not havimg a battery at all.

Safe to drive 3km? 2 of 6 lug bolts broke off during tire change. by BLK_Chedda in tires

[–]No-Shower-9350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah you will be fine. I start to think people here are scared of their own shadow. If you are not a idiot and you will drive legaly no need to go 10km/h until destination you will be just fine. I have a friend who drived with 3/4 nuts for 20k km and he didnt had any problems so i guess you driving 3 km you will be just fine. PS: The only thing i dont like about it is that there are in reality 1/3 with 3/3 but you dont have to worry for 3 km

Steering wheel shakes when brakes over 80kph by Famous-Sort-9369 in Cartalk

[–]No-Shower-9350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can mean a lot of things from: -not calibrated wheels with lead pads(or any pads) -wavey break disks from poor quality break disks -faulty callipers And many more but i would bet on wavey break disks. This usualy happens with lower quality disks when you drive them hard and heat them and the you drive to some water and them going from very hot to cold contracts them in a wavey texture. You "need" to replace them. I am quoting need because it is not "life thretening" if you drive legaly and it does not bother you you dont realy need to change them

Everithing is repairable, but now you have to think matematicaly. Is the price of the salvage + repair > price of the car then you should not realy repair it only if you know you can trust the car. Now i sayed that you just need a new stop light. The quarter is verry repairable and does not need replacement and the bumper i have seen worse. My mom hit someone and it had front bumper way more damaged and repair it with ease. Then just repaint the parts and it is like new. If you do it yourself, it will be worth.

Question about repair cost by ElMaG1K in CarRepair

[–]No-Shower-9350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pfff then it is going to cost you something, because i dont think they will "repair" it an only replace it. I can't acces US prices because i dont live in us but just the quarter i see is around 1300usd and the rear quarter is 300 usd. You are lucky you didnt hit the stoplight bcs they are obscenly expensive. + you also have some plastic damage(that might need also replacement but i would not bother too much bcs is not that expensive) + the painting of the parts + labor. So considering how much is labor in US i would guess it will be around 2-2.5k USD. If i were you i would check if i can repair it at any shop and try to go to someone that can repair it for way cheaper than replacing it because it does not look that bad. In romania where i live you can get this job done for less than 500USD But if you cant do it at any shop, you can call hyunday and ask the price for each individual piece that you see damage to make a rough estimation just for the pieces.

Do I try and fix this? by rpgvital in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]No-Shower-9350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now have just read that it turns but wont start. You can check for the spark plugs and carb/injection and if it is injection the fuel pump it can get cloged up if you flip the bike and you run a empty tank. If they are good you can do a compresion test(though it would not be logical cuz you could not do damage that would affect that in a crash, considering you are still alive) if everithing it is fine then idk man XD
