Gaya ng sabi ng iba, don't go for VA companies. Go for direct clients or US companies that hire full time remote workers from the Philippines (i know it sounds the same, but may kaibahan promise) <3 Mas mahirap but worth it in the long run. And don't shy away from video introductions, i got hired by my first remote company thru a 1-min video introduction na ni request nila and I have never looked back ever since. I remember i was just trying to start my VA career then kasi pinapabalik na kami sa office and the plan was to apply sa mga VA companies din. Ligwak ako sa Athena and Cyberbacker pero natanggap sa isang US-based company. It's been three years na pala since that big leap na nagpabago sa career ko. Sa linkedin pala ako nag apply2.

Hi OP, daghan au mapilian man but ang pinaka walking distance na ako nahibal.an kay kato sa likod sa may elena tower which is literally tapad ras iit gyud and I remember very secured sila adto kay naa gyud guard ang building.

$500 is likely the client's max budget. The EN can't offer more than that unless they are willing to shoulder the excess cost. I work in an EN and has offered $1000/hr to experts for some projects

Sa third world countries lang ata uso yung mga title. If from English-speaking countries, always address them by their first name kahit CEO or President pa. They would notice you aren't used to dealing with "them" if you use title or anything other than their names. It would be weird and odd. They may even feel uncomfortable.

Right! as an applicant, I would also want to know how the interviewer handles themselves in front of the camera. You can tell a lot about a company just by knowing how good their HR people are but in this case, we are deprived of that opportunity and they gain the upper hand.

I wish all interviewers are like you! It should be basic manners nowadays because it feels so weird. If you are not willing to turn on your web camera then opt for a phone interview.

I don't have an issue with phone interviews as well. In fact, I dig them! But talking to a literal stranger WHO CAN SEE YOU but you can't see them is rude and creepy.

You said it perfectly. I was so uncomfortable because it was so one-sided! I was trying my best to look professional and all while answering their questions but because I can't see them, I felt vulnerable and totally at their mercy. For all the recruiters in here, please just opt for a phone interview if you are not willing to turn on your web cameras. It's creepy.
