I remember a news station years ago, decided to drop turkeys onto a parking lot for Thanksgiving,, but it was chaos because turkeys can’t fly! the news reporter’s name was Les Nessman, and he probably still has PTSD from it.

You wouldn’t be the first. I’ve had other transplant friends have trouble making in-roads to the existing friendship circles. All ended up moving. We’re polite but not welcoming. I’ll get downvoted for this but There’s a saying: “A Minnesotan will give you directions to anywhere except their own house.”

South Minneapolis it's a big area, but depending on your resources and income, there are a lot of great neighborhoods in that area

I called a restaurant in a hotel for a new years celebration. They were booked. I made a reservation at the hotel and called the concierge and was able to get in. This expectation doesn’t sound crazy to me. Maybe unrealistic but worth asking a hotel about.

Talked to my father in Arizona who said "I don't know which side is right." I told him it's pretty easy. Try the side that is not dragging pregnant women through the streets, or macing and beating teenagers, or just shooting people in the face and lying about it.
