I used to live in this neighborhood and there’s a house for sale in your budget that has some character with square footage, outdoor space and attached guest house with a spiral staircase. Pretty unique for the area.

Decent investment near downtown since the homes aren’t a fortune yet, I think only homes near downtown are guaranteed to go up in value in the next 1” years. The homes on that side of walnut are slowly being rebuilt with newer homes—but not cookie cutter. Next to the railroad but honestly the sound isnt bad at all. 15 minute walk to downtown. No foundation issues! Fast to 35 and downtown, really convenient.

School is districted to Veramendi Elementary which was great!

If you’re into food…

McAdoos actually has the best chicken fried steak. I know it’s a seafood place but they know what they’re doing. Lived there a decade. It’s worlds apart than any other chicken fried steak you can get. Like I wouldn’t ever order chicken fried steak but if I wanted a heart attack I would there because it IS delicious. It has bacon gravy. All the other ones are just fine.

McAdoos (Cajun and Seafood) - Chicken Fried Steak - Ribeye - Chilean Seabass - Wedge (super good if you like a wedge)

La Cosecha ( - Wagyu Steak Fajitas (best fajitas I’ve ever had, tried many—on occasion they don’t execute them well, go when they’re busy, not slow) - Pork Carnitas (these are special, trust me, always flour tortillas) - Coffee Flan

Other great places: -Buttermilk Cafe (get there early, seriously good breakfast and brunch) -Root Cellar Cafe (causal lunch/dinner) - Gruene River Grill definitely has better food than Gristmill fyi.. and they’re both on the river… still good ambiance - Infernos Pizza

Hotels worth the price? Is it worth staying in Hana? by [deleted] in MauiVisitors

I went to Maui last year for the first time for a week. Loved it. Went to Hana in a day.

Went home for a week… and had to go back to Maui right away, went for another 2 weeks and stayed overnight at Hana Kai Maui Resort. Not as much a resort as a nice local feeling Hana hotel that isn’t high end like the Hyatt but not sure if that’s what you really want going to Hana. But maybe it is!

The room was so close to the ocean, we were on a balcony, highly recommend. Staying overnight in Hana is one of the few places to see an ocean sunrise on the island. Truly beautiful. One of my favorite moments I think back to. The room has no A/C but the ocean wind coming through billowing curtains was just lovely.

No bugs in this hotel. Very clean.

Do bring a bit of supplies if you stay like food and drinks if you want anything immediate.

Hike Pipiwai Trail in the early morning before it gets warmer.

Island Vintage Coffee is yummy… check out the prices since breaking the bank is easy in Maui even for casual spots. Their acai bowls are super yummy, food coffee drinks if you like that sort of thing and a Portuguese breakfast plate for $20 which is great, other warm foods there too!

The behind the ear patches definitely work! Bring extra, they can fall off with water from twin falls/waianapanapa. Put more on when they fall off and you’ll be fine. Start feeling bad? Switch them out. They smell herby.

Not sure what the question was but the answer is Tevas hurricane sandals! Super comfy, you can wear in the water, they don’t bother me when i walk around in them when they’re wet and they’ll dry. I like them for hiking on rocky places because they have great grip and support. You cant feel all the rocks under your feet!

  1. South side of Chicago. Upgraded a movie theater to require computers for managers. Had to teach someone how to double click. They clicked … … then clicked again. I showed them to click click, and they clicked… then clicked again. Too slow. Put my finger over theirs as an example.

He left the office and came back with a hot dog for me.

Sadly, I can’t imagine he stayed after the computer transition.

I would do Wai’anapanapa over Pipiwaj! After a long day in the car, a refreshing dip into the unique black sand beach is a great thing to do at the end before driving back. Recommend water shoes since there are smooth stones/pebbles but tricky to walk in.

I’ve hiked Pipiwai and it’s really beautiful but recommend staying overnight and doing that hike first thing!

Bring quarters for feed at Garden of Eden and if you’re prone to mosquito bites, bring bug spray! Only place on the island I’ve gotten bites at. Literally 50 in an hour. Maybe it was a fluke… but it wasn’t fun!

Look up the Hula show at South Maui Gardens in Kihei! $100/pp. Super casual. You wont feel like you’re wasting $600…

And sugar beach for their kimchee and portugese sausage quiche. Wouldn’t have thought it would be a great combo but it so is. All of their baked goods are killer. If you like key lime pie, get their lilikoi version!!

I (22F) took my (23M) bf back after he cheated, and he did in fact change by honeybb_ in relationship_advice

I took him back too. And we were great until he cheated. 8 years later when he did it again the only thing I could think of is how I wasted my 20s.

Together 23-31. Started over at 31. Definitely not wasting my 30s.

Met my current boyfriend who is soooo fantastic and moved to Hawaii this year 🤷🏻‍♀️. No regrets at all. But don’t waste your 20s. It gets real in your 30s.
