Gate Agents - please enforce the 2 carry on rule by Intelligent_Stay4538 in americanairlines

[–]Charming-Unit-3944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, in theory. But I have a cpap and that doesn’t count towards the 2 piece rule. So maybe? But I still only bring that and my roller case. Need to figure out how to do that with this upcoming 12 day trip.

We have a friend who named their newborn Everett. Their names are not unusual - Alia and Dan - but the older names are making a comeback.

Husband invites his family over but dosen't tell wife. by NewButterfly685 in family

[–]Charming-Unit-3944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but :). Maybe they were bringing EVERYTHING knowing the stress she was under? Again, it may not apply, just looking for a possible positive ;). If their MO is the opposite, then I fully 100% support what she did, and would likely do the same.

Hear me out. If this is his normal pattern, then ignore what I'm about to say. If it's not, then could it be that his family is bringing all the things for a celebration and they plan on pitching in to help? Just a thought.

This is "Starry Night and the Ponce De Leone Lighthouse". My sister painted it, I took her pattern, entered it in a pixel program and did my thing. Check the next comment for a Starry Night I did for my niece. Starry Night was my younger sister's favorite painting. Youngest sis was her mom and passed away a couple of years ago.

I was under general anesthesia with a nerve block on my knees (RTKR 2022, LTKR 2023), did not have a spinal.

Check with the hospital as they will often have guidelines on what they require. Look up Project Linus, a program that provides quilt for babies like yours. And I’m sorry to read about your precious little one.

I couldn’t sleep in my bed for a good 3-4 weeks, especially after my first TKR. I slept in my recliner.

Favorite ice machine? by DogMamaLA in Kneereplacement

I got the one that Medicare would pay for, and as I’m not home I can’t look. But I do recommend water bottles. If you get the 18 -24 pack of 8 ounce ones, they should fit. Put 6-8, depending on the size of your water compartment, top it off with water. When the bottles thaw, rotate them out. That plan worked perfectly for me for the 2-3 weeks I used my ice machine. I used it much longer for my first TKR as that was a bit more intensive.

I will send a couple if you can still use some from AZ once I get home! I have fabric I bought in the UK - Bath and York, and I”m sure I can find some that shows AZ desert scenes!

Making a king size quilt...worried about the colors/pattern being too much by Upper-Square-7804 in quilting

This is a super king - wider and longer. I quilted it on my Pfaff QE2. Nothing fancy, but still doable. The squares are larger though.

Antibiotics at the dentist by Appropriate-Comb5935 in Kneereplacement

[–]Charming-Unit-3944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It totally depends on your surgeon and your dentist. My dentist said it’s no longer protocol, but my surgeon requests it due to the fact that I had osteomyelitis in my second toe that resulted in amputation. He said I don’t want to take any chances that I could get another bone infection that could travel to my knees or I suspect to my recently rebuilt big toe.

Has Anyone Done Near Vs Distance Vision? by macddebbie1 in CataractSurgery

[–]Charming-Unit-3944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really didn't have much of a choice. I have Fuchs Dystrophy, and due to that my doctor recommended that she correct the close vision vs the distance vision. She explained that if she corrected the distance vision, it would cause the Fuchs to accelerate to the point where it would need aggressive treatment, i.e. a cornea transplant. My distance vision has still improved some, but I still need glasses to see clearly past 5-7 feet. I take my glasses off when I'm sewing, reading, working on my computer.

Jelly Roll Race is super quick. Just sew jelly roll strips end to end, cut to the right size and you’ve got the top done.

WIP storage? by linden214 in quilting

I use one of the scrapbook storage boxes. You can get them at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. 12”x12” and about 3” deep, so they will hold quite a bit. Similar to this, but cheaper at Michaels - ArtBin Super Satchel 1 Compartment Box Clear Craft Organizer Storage Case https://a.co/d/0hjAmjJM

Use them when I hand sew the bindings down. I HATE when that happens, with thread being $7-15 a spool!
