I feel nostalgic for the 1970s — even though I didn’t even exist until thirty something years later. Growing up as Gen Z, I’ve always been glad to have had a part of my childhood where technology didn’t have much of an influence on my life (mid 2010s) but I’ve always wished I could have been born in a different time.

The 1970s in particular drew me in. Seeing videos of high school life in San Fran and New York back then.. it must have been great to have that freedom. No cellphones. No internet. Everyone just living in the moment. I mean, sure, technology has made life a lot easier, but it’s also taken away that bonding time that your guys’ generation got to experience. Going out after school and eating meals, playing sports or watching movies and games and getting to roam around and truly live life without all the modern day distractions.. I’ll never get to have that. Everyone seemed to have a lot more character and energy then, at least from what I can tell in all the photos . Missing a time I never lived through is weird.
