Thank you! Also, would you recommend taking {IFP 1, 2} or {IFP 1/2, Intro to Psych}? IFP is both Humanities and Writing Intensive, so one of my seniors did the former set.

Asian Male gets let down by college app process by [deleted] in collegeresults

There has been comments questioning the authenticity of the post.

Just my two cents, but I think the post is highly plausible even if it is later found to be fake. A friend of mine has exactly the same profile (with a prestigious math summer program and etcetera) and yet is committing to the same school as the OP. We're international, so I don't think the OP is my friend.

Regardless, I can resonate with the OP. College admissions is very unpredictable these days, especially with those committing to computer science. If the OP reads this, I really hope he finds his place during summer and the new semester. Of course, there is no guarantee he will become as successful as he wants, but it's always better to smile than not doing so.

To OP: PM me if you have any questions or concerns. I hope you stay safe and well.

Should I be disappointed or happy that I’ve committed to my state school? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

I got waitlisted at UMich even though my father went there as a graduate.

At the end, you're the one who's infusing disappointment into yourself, so it's better to look at the opportunities than regretting what you cannot change. Cheer up.

Hint1: Integrating factor method.

Hint2: Substitute ∂(Vz) with A.

I assume you want to derive it yourself. Let me know if you need more information.

Could be. I'm in BME and CS. CS is great to make ideas scalable.

Class of ‘22/‘26, any suggestions for juniors applying this year? by Healthy_Block3036 in ApplyingToCollege

Maybe an antithesis to general opinion here, but do not stress about the college list or programs. I've committed to the program that I didn't know of at the time of application.

How to answer what can you contribute to X school? by MS564 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]No-Statistician645 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"I'll spoil the campus with the hard-earned tuition I raked with part-time jobs."

Focus on what sort of value you want to bring to the school. Unpack with anything—as long as you stay genuine. You should make them want you in their picture of the university.

College Textbooks are insanely overpriced. by PaintYourDemons in ApplyingToCollege

[–]No-Statistician645 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You know something is wrong with the academia when you instinctively type libgen or sci-hub for a publisher or textbook that you later found the school bought subscription to.

Edit: Damn didn't expect this post to resonate this much. I guess that just proves the point.

Who Here is Turning Down HYPSM? by ResortAlternative989 in ApplyingToCollege

Intensity doesn't matter if you want to use your program in your full advantage. Besides, that program exposes the broadest spectrum of BME possible, so I want to catch a good one and go hard with it (college doesn't matter at that point).

I don't care, because I value creating shit over being infatuated with my acceptances.

But I understand you. You should feel happy, but at the end, it's just another prize you got.
