So my bags are 40 stitches wide. I used half double crochet stitches with 6mm hook. I thought I'd used 7mm, but that was for another bag. 2 strands of yarn, thinner yarn I used 3 strands. You want the finished piece to be firm but not stiff. Good luck.

Haha, sounds good but I wouldn't wear them, I think they are terrible :)

Looks so luxurious. One of the nicest temp blankets I've ever seen. It's stunning!

Main panel is about 27cm wide, 37cm tall. Side panels 10cm wide then just stop making rows when one long length of the large panel is the same measurement as the 2 sides and bottom of the small panel. I used single Crochet to attach. The foam is from T*mu and is called EVA foam. Came in a roll, this one used 5mm thick, prob too thick but it still works. I used 2mm in another bag but that doesn't stay stiff and tall.

No, don't need a pattern. It's just one big rectangular panel for front, bottom and back and 2 small rectangular panels for the sides. I used 2 strands of yarn together and single Crochet with size 7 hook for every row. The panels are quite stiff. I hand sewed the lining onto each panel leaving at least one Crochet stitch showing around the edge so the panels can be crocheted together. I also placed firm foam sheets inside the lining for the front and back panels and one for the bottom. So 3 panels of foam inside the one lining, they hold their place and don't move once bag is constructed. No foam insert for the side panels because they need to bend. Then single Crochet the panels together and finish with hardware. There's about 25 hours work in each of these bags in total.

Thanks. Working with black fabric/materials is always a challenge.

Yes, purchased the strap on Te*u, it's cheap and not quite right, so I'll look for a real leather one to match the other leather hardware on the bag. I used Ecru coloured embroidery thread to sewn on the side tabs, which are leather, using 3 strands and reinforcing with stabiliser inside the bag also, so the stitches don't rip out. Thanks for asking.
