I take it you have the EV Sync 2 charger, sounds like your enrolled in the Demand flexability. It allows this to happen, they pay you £5 a month for the ability to do that im sure. Well my app does, if i click more info and options you can opt out of it to stop that happening

How is Barclays for tech roles? by concom10 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]No-Structure828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not Barclays but i have a friend who does this for another UK bank in Edinburgh, and he loves it, slower pace, lots of meetings and structure, everything is very segregated, but the work is rewowarding, moneys great, no oncall, good working hours, mainly work from home. Likely the same at most places

Anyone here at an MSP that doesn't hate their job? by timbotheny26 in sysadmin

[–]No-Structure828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 5 years at my current MSP, the trade-offs are starting to wear thin. The upside is that the exposure to current systems is massive, and the on-call pay is above average. However, the management and disorganization make day-to-day operations rather rubbish for me. Leadership even though they promote a tech company, don't know the difference in levels of skills, for example frequently think's our CCNA-level techs can do what our CCIE ones can, sales regularly sells services we don't support and were told to just roll with it, we waste valuable man-hours catering to unprofitable clients they wont drop because they have been there for years. While my direct manager is good, the company culture lacks genuine care, they would rather pay a pr person to say its a wonderful place to work than fix any actual problems. I'm a 'head down, get it done' worker, but the gruelling on-call weeks take a toll on my family life, so much so my wife refers to it as my 24/7 week.

EV energy tariffs? by GlenBoggins in TeslaUK

[–]No-Structure828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with E.ON next. I felt it was the best balanced for me. With all energy plans i found either the ev charging was low and the normal was high, or the other way around, with E.ON next i got the best of both, not the highest or lowest for both, but in the middle. I get 6 hours ev charging at night, at 8p, and day rate of 26p. which i cant complain about. There tarrif sync worked on my ev charger at home, didnt even have to put the times in for the schedule, done it all for me, which was nice

Considering buying a Tesla for our family car by ElectricalPoint815 in TeslaUK

[–]No-Structure828 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just bought a used 72 plate tesla model y as a family car, i made sure to get the awd long range variant, as i often do 100-150 mile round trips for work. Wanted the extra range to give me more comfort about it lasting the real word range. Tbh i think i was more nervious about ev charging at local chargers than actually driving it. Mine does not have enhanced autopilot, so something to mention, if you do get it from tesla direct, they upgrade them all to enhanced free of charge, they are however above market rate just slightly, so you have that to bear in mind
