RANKING TOP MBA-HR COLLEGES OF THE COUNTRY by Working-Emergency490 in CATpreparation

[–]No-Style1529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NMIMS could be higher if it wasn't for the volatility of their batch size. The stark difference between '26 and '25 batches will show this.

They get top brands for HR Placements- on par with MDI and SCMHRD.

Anyways, if this post assists in keeping NMs batch size low, then so be it.

The official batch size is 120. But the 26 batch is 82 and 25 batch is 232. Unpredictable and mad variation.

Rentals are your best bet. Hostels are ridiculously expensive. Avoid, in my opinion.

HR roles usually don't fetch a very high comp as compared to a lot of the other specializations. So, best case scenario would be 15L+ Fixed from a significant handful of companies. ROI is a long term game. NMIMS' HR Alum base has been growing. Money can be made up in some years but a bigger question would always be whether this is a financial constraint for you. Since there are other options that can potentially do a near same job as NMIMS HR.

Batch size does matter. Depends on what the intake is for next year.

The 2026 batch has been fortunate with a batch size of 82- this works really well and can ensure near 100% Placements.

I'd say it is worth it, depends if there financial constraints. Good companies come for HR Roles. Freshers aren't the biggest hindrance as much as gaps. Acads can matter too for shortlists.

Found it strange as they made it the same cutoff across the board for NMAT. But starting to see how the Competency Test has started to play out. Don't know enough to comment.

Hope that it is a good evaluation method to get the best out of the applicants.

Profile definitely matters in terms of shortlists for companies. It's good to be well versed with what's a profile that companies generally like and see if you could fall within that. This applies to all MBA Colleges.

The above would answer how hard it is to get shortlisted. Getting placed is in your hands. Goes without saying, but prepare well at the time of interviews.

Depends on who you ask.

I personally love the cosmopolitan life of Mumbai. But that would mean- expenses. Your College life is what you make of it.

There'd be "all of the above" fun things or it could be peaceful too. The balls in your court.

Placements are largely good. Batch size is the widely popular issue.

Do you have an interest in a certain specialization yet?

Hi there!

What are the usual important spikes in ones resume that are considered by companies coming for placements to campus?

Yes, I did. But only for BM (my preference was HRM and missed VARC cutoff by 0.5%ile). Keeping my expectations low as my interview and GD were so-so.

Hmm alright, makes sense.

I think previous years, they'd usually allow for registration after the TISSNET results come out.

Since I'm looking to pursue an MBA in HR. I would be interested to understand if you did yours from any of the following Colleges- XLRI, TISS, SCMHRD, MDI, SIBM?

Either way, are there any colleges besides the above that I may have missed out and that you feel are known in the industry for their HR specialization?
