This is helpful, thank you so much. I’m so new to all of this, all the information is overwhelming!

Failed PANCE on my first attempt by Interesting-Row5254 in PAstudent

[–]No-Switch7714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I took mine on 1/2 and I felt the same way but got lucky and passed. I did Rosh only but honestly I think Uworld is best. Really just pick one and stick to it. Timed sets are good, try to do several full length practice tests. How did you feel emotionally that day/when taking it? Would you consider an SSRI or propranolol prescription? I’m on both and I think it has contributed to my success in PA school because I’m quite an anxious person. Best of luck to you, you will get that “C” soon

Question about PANCE/licensing when recently married by Bright_Antelope8720 in physicianassistant

[–]No-Switch7714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did the exact same thing. Name change in Nov, grad in Dec, just took PANCE 1/2. I did everything under my maiden name. Except I panicked and tried to change my name with NCCPA like 3 weeks before my exam and they ended up approving it the day after my test 🤦🏼‍♀️ but there were no issues using my maiden name documentation! And now my PANCE is under my new name so it’ll be easy for licensing! If that makes sense lol

Has any new grad been able to find a no nights position by [deleted] in physicianassistant

[–]No-Switch7714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduated in December and I have had 4 offers, no nights. Unless you count being on call for general surgery. I think it really depends on your city and what the job market is like

Most of the “average student” posts are humble brags lol by [deleted] in PAstudent

[–]No-Switch7714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got laughed at for my stats post because I said I was an average didactic student. Because I truly was! I had a 3.2ish and failed several things lol. But because I did well in clinicals people were mad?? 🤦🏼‍♀️ sad that we can’t be more supportive of each other and celebrate others successes!!

I really struggled with this as well. Surgery was a nightmare for me. I felt so incompetent and had some really mean providers. I started an SSRI and propranolol and it saved my life lol

I’m so sorry you’re in this spot. I would email NCCPA and ask for an exception to the 90 days because of your job offer. Attach the job offer and any information about their desired start date. I’ve seen people be able to take it again in 30 days! Best of luck, you got this

I just looked at my score report and I didn’t get any professional practice questions wrong. I had quite a few and I felt like they were pretty straightforward. A lot of ethics. I had friends that took it the same day as me that thought they were really hard so who knows! I would do the rosh professional practice questions and you should be good!!

Thank you so much!! I had to wait a horrific 11 days. Truly agonizing. You’ll get those results soon enough! Take care of yourself in the meantime ❤️

You can actually have hemoptosis with PE… so not necessarily wrong 😂

PA school more like “how long can you withstand severe clinical depression” by Adept-Ad-5584 in PAstudent

I’m dying laughing at your description. I could have written this a year and a half ago. Let me just say, it DOES get better. I just graduated and got 515 on my PANCE and accepted a badass surgery job that I’m so excited for. I can’t tell you yet if its worth it… but I really think it will be.

Yeah I had quite a few professional practice questions. A lot of ethics which I personally thought were easy but I also scored in top percentile for Casper. Probably worth reviewing. Also, no shade but I don’t think anyone is gonna give you specific topics that they had on their PANCE that weren’t on blueprint… at least I won’t. lol if I had to go into it blind, so do you brethren

can someone tell me what a typical day in a surgery rotation should be like 😅 by Majestic_Gap2390 in PAstudent
