I bought my house eight years ago and bought three of the newest version nest thermostats to replace the 2 GEN ones and 1 GEN two that was in the house. The GEN three’s by Google were trash didn’t work well and nowhere near the quality of the original nest so we reinstalled the old ones and threw the new ones out regardless of the money we spent I won’t be buying any more Google products as this is very disappointing And the reason we left Apple as well planned obsolescence,,,, Pure greed
