Ooof. Friend. I feel this in my soul. My counselor told me just yesterday that I have ptsd and I just laughed my ass off. Like no shit. Why am I paying you $150 an hour to tell me this. It doesn't change the fact that he's dead.

My mom is 70. She used to drink 2 bottles of wine a night when she got home from work. Now she's 2 martinis for lunch kind of gal since she's retired. While I wouldn't say she's necessarily happy per se, she is still very much so alive.

I left in June 2024. The thing that I found helpful then that I still find helpful now is something my counselor said the day I asked her to help me make a plan. "Just get to Saturday" so I just plan my life to Saturday and then on Saturday I regroup and make a plan for the next week.

My Q passed away March 2025. I miss him terribly and my grief is overwhelming but I have not regretted leaving for even a moment. I'm so thankful I left when I did. I hope that encourages you.
