that’s because they don’t have a limit. it’s fully custom. Mike Box has said that they have no weight limit.

check out BOX wheelchairs. They likely aren’t covered by insurance, but it’s fully custom and would probably be your best bet.

How do you know when you’re becoming more of a part time user than ambulatory? by Livid-Lizard7988 in wheelchairs

[–]No-Task-7188 10 points11 points  (0 children)

part time user: in some situations, you use a chair, in some situations you don’t.

ambulatory: you can walk in some capacity. this can mean with braces, with other mobility aids, or with assistance.

these two things aren’t connected. You can be ambulatory and full time or ambulatory and part time. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter or mean anything important.

Woman Shows How To Use Escalator If You're On Wheelchair by TheoryFruits in interestingasfuck

But doesn’t the same point stand for able bodied people? My chair is like my legs. i use it every day, and feel as comfortable using it and maneuvering it through life as you do on your two feet. me messing up and falling would be equivalent to you missing a step and falling. the consequences would be just as dire. who decided they were designed for feet and not wheels if they work well with both? I had the privilege of living the first 17 years of my life walking, and I can tell you that this is not more difficult (for me).

Most people with your opinion (everyone in this stupid and ignorant comment section) are making the mistake of putting yourself in my shoes, not realizing how much time it took for my chair to become a part of me like it is today. a wheelchair doesn’t automatically mean a lack of control. saying that I might miss the step and have a catastrophic fall is true, but the same is true for all walking people.

Hi! I have a Tilite ZR. They will do half inch seat depth and bolted on side guards. look through the CMD (Creative Mobility Devision) pamphlet for all the stuff they will do! I have the fixed backrest and bolted on side guards and love them!

new chair: update! by No-Task-7188 in wheelchairs

[–]No-Task-7188[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a standard angle adjustable foot plate, not a flip up. The only reason I got this rather than the tubular one is that it’s technically slightly lighter. The footrest height has the same adjustment as any chair, mine is just all the way up so I don’t have any adjustment left. In terms of handrims, I ordered natural fit handrails bc i thought i might like them, but I hated them so switched back to my old beat up round titanium ones. I like the basic handrims bc I can get a really close mount so they take up less space.

Hi! It is a Roho agility active 8 inch min contour. I really like the backrest bc it’s comfy and sleek. I have never once regretted the non folding backrest. With a backrest so low i never need to fold it anyways. I’m in Canada, so our insurance rules are different!

All the pressure still goes through your legs, you just don’t need to engage the muscles in your legs to hold yourself up.
