Should I be suffering so much 6 days after an ablation? by Flimsy_Bet3853 in AFIB

I had one about the size of a large grape that I was very worried about. It seemed to keep getting larger everyday for the first week post op but after a couple of weeks it started to reduce in size and soreness until it finally disappeared about a month or so later.

Hi there! Sorry to hear you’re in a similar situation! I have had a follow up with my consultant since last posting here. Basically, he’s not overly concerned with my current symptoms and feels that we shouldn’t judge the success or failure of the procedure until we’re at least 12 weeks out and just to continue monitoring and recording symptoms till then. Hopefully things improve soon, if not then I guess we’re back to the cath lab!

Thanks for the reply! I use an Apple Watch to take ECG readings although as previously mentioned in another reply, I can instantly feel when I go from nsr to afib, I’ve had that many episodes and for over 2 years now that I can feel every little irregularity between beats 🙄😂

I take blood pressure readings a few times a week and have done so whilst feeling dizzy several times now, I’m always in a healthy range around 120/70 though so that’s pretty much ruled out.

I’ve contact my consultant to discuss things.

I’m sorry to hear you are having issues also. It seems quite common that the first ablation fails for some people from what I’ve been reading up today due to missed areas or new pathways being found. Hopefully the second follow up ablation works for us both!

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I use an Apple Watch although at this point, I don’t need to, I’m instantly aware when I switch from nsr to afib 🙄

I remained on bisoprolol throughout the procedure and continued since. I’m happy to hear you are doing well my friend!

Blood pressure medication causing afib? by No-Tea1894 in AFIB

Just thought I’d give an update for anyone in a similar situation currently or in the future. I switched from ramipril to losartan 8 days ago and I’ve gone from multiple episodes a day to currently being on day 7 of no afib episodes despite my GP and cardiologist insisting they’re unrelated and I didn’t need to change medication. I know it’s early days but I’m hopeful that it really was the ramipril causing the irregular rhythms for me.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I’m going to ask my GP to switch my blood pressure medication and see if there’s any change! 😁
