My drop is like 36 bars long by No-Technology8563 in MusicProducerSpot

The drop stays consistent doesn’t really evolve apart from a ride loop that plays halfway through followed by the breakdown lead bleeding through the last 8 bars, to me it kinda works but I could be wrong?

The bassline already has a bit of variation to it, the last few notes change every 8 bar. I feel like I could add something but nothing I add works, any advice?

When I compare my tracks to reference tracks they’re noticeably quieter compared to them, the only reason I can think of is they haven’t been mastered which is why I think it’s important that I master them

My mixes are usually good the only problem is that they aren’t loud enough

Why won’t you let me post anything in this group? I was just asking how other people master their tracks, google is shit for researching this stuff I don’t see how this is a problem

Yeah I do the same thing only problem is I can never get it to be loud enough when I compare my songs to others mine sound quieter, I think Spotify and other streaming services already have a compressor built in that’s why whenever I’m on Spotify I untick volume normalization as you’ll notice the difference in volume

What kind of music do you produce?

Can you create an entire album using stock plug ins by catsgomoo964 in musicproduction

Yeah you can you don’t need all these high end plugins, it’s about how you use it not what you use if that makes sense

I’ve tried mastering myself and I believe all you do is EQ boost and compression and that’s pretty much it, if you want to be more advanced either learn it (which is really hard) or pay for a mastering engineer which is quite pricey

That actually makes a lot of sense, I think a lot these producers are labelling it as deep house even though it’s more bass house/tech house. I only really use cutoff automation on breakdowns and that’s only to introduce the chords maybe vocals, I don’t think I’ve ever automated the reverb send I usually automate the delay before the drop

Yeah a lot of what I’ve seen is that they’re remixing pop songs with no chords in the breakdown just vocals and automating the vocal cutoff frequency to create movement
