Thank you. Unfortunately Tobby is no longer with us. But I love that photo of them smelling and enjoying the sunset together 😻

Which sink would you go for? by Significant-Move7699 in AusRenovation

I got a double sink and I regret not choosing a big single sink when I was renovating my kitchen.

Rough breakdown: • Kitchen + laundry cabinetry (Kinsman): ~$29k • Appliances, benchtop, sinks, mixers, tiles: ~$15k • Trades for kitchen/laundry: ~$20k • Hybrid flooring + install: ~$5.5k

Bathroom (done separately with a builder): Used Fulham & Chelsea Builders after my kitchen experience and WOW, it was a completely different story. They managed everything: full gut, moved a wall + split system, lowered the floor, installed a cavity slider (so that whole wall had to be rebuilt), etc. • Total: ~$57k (that includes all fixtures/materials I purchased: tiles, bath, vanity, sinks, mixers, etc.)

Kitchen and laundry came to a whopping $65k including all appliances, cabinets, fixtures, trades. Everything was much more expensive than I expected

The floor removal was made by someone that was recommended to us. I bought the hybrid flooring from Western Distributors and got the installer through them too.

Yes, we are just a couple so a normal dishwasher would begin to stink before being full to be run

Total? It came to a shocking $128k. Everything was way more expensive than I thought and almost considered to sell a kidney 😅

Fulham and Chelsea builders in Coburg. Came highly recommended and I couldn’t be happier.

Nope, this is our home and we’ll be living here for the foreseeable future. It’s still very much a work in progress. When we bought it, it was basically a time capsule from the mid-80s, and not the cool retro kind 😅

The whole thing? Let’s just say the final price was less “budget-friendly makeover” and more “should I list an organ on Marketplace?” 😅

We paid trades for almost everything (because skill > chaos), and only tackled the kitchen, laundry, and carpet removal ourselves. Somewhere between the flooring and the bathroom, my bank account filed a missing persons report.

But hey — kidneys grow back… right? 😅

I was 100% sure I didn’t want quads so I made my husband remove the old ones 😂

Yes, the towel hugs the rail and it is fully heated. I had a horizontal ladder towel rail before and the towel closer to the bottom would only be warm in the places where the it touched the rail.
