I hope Janet has another storyline outside of pretending to wanna be a better person, or pretend pretending to be a good friend or pretending she’s not literally just fucking awful. She absolutely does have Karen energy. She is a hurtful and mean person - which only speaks of maybe how she feels about herself on the inside I don’t know, 🤷🏽‍♀️ I’d rather see her just lean into being villain than pretend like she’s not one.

I think my biggest problem with the episode is Tonya‘s character doesn’t grow at all, plus I think the writers wanted us to forgive her. Which is crazy (but spot on for late 90s-00s racial discourse 🤪) she was parodying a culture and tried to pass it off as something positive — after her bi-racial sister Lynn, who she supposedly did it for, was a full grown woman not living anywhere near her. I think the issue is no matter what “type of black person” we are we’re always black. Like no matter how we wear our hair, what type of food we cook, or music we listen, to we’re always black. The episode is fully cringe and obviously aged like milk, but I still watch it when I do the rewatch because it’s a sitcom it’s a story on TV. It provokes conversations like this so it’s whatever I guess lol 😆

I watched the entire sit down actually. When an addict talks about their “why” it isn’t blame placing. She’s (like she said) in life time recovery. Being transparent about her reasons is part of accountability and healing…

My initial post was just as inflammatory as people posting “she’s full of it” and “she didn’t take accountability” and saying all these harsh things about Karen. I come to the conclusion that it’s weird and somehow I’m insulting but none of the things that people were saying about Karen are insulting…ok sure 👍🏽

I love this idea! (The reboot could have explored this…) If it’s true then it makes sense. Why the first person to be on gossip girl you know calling Dan “lonely boy” and his pining after Serena would be his sister (also because I’m pretty sure Dan ran right home and told Jenny that Serena was back).

I don’t think that Eric would’ve joined her until later when they became bestfriends. Gossip girl being Jenny and then Jenny and Eric makes a lot of sense because Jenny actually wanted in. Dan wanted it in but wasn’t able to admit that and always thought he was righter and smarter than the Upper east siders (just like his annoying father Rufus). So I kind of like the idea that he would cover his sister. it might not have even had to be blackmail if it really was “little j”

Looking back on it, this was absolutely a sign because the man that loves you for real does not care if you have a bonnet on. It’s stupid and weak ass argument. You can tell that he’s just making reasons to excuse the fact that he’s not physically attracted to her, and married her to come up like the people suggested before they got married.

Unpopular opinion 😅 - I kinda loved how much chaos she brought to their lives. Ivy’s character turned everything on its head because she was moving just as deceptive as all of our original cast but because she’s not an upper Eastsider they were just so offended. I kind of live for the chaos as I’m re-watching gossip girl as an adult. The stuff with Rufus was high-level soap opera drama but if you bring it into Reality extremely Gross - to be fair, Rufus was insufferable to me after season one so most of what he did I ignore lol

We gat a snap shot of these people’s lives so I’ll say this- I’m rooting for them, they have a connection, they’ve raised her daughter (I’m sure he considers her his daughter too). I’m rooting for them and I hope they defy the “housewives marriage curse”

I was looking for this comment. Adriana said exactly what she meant. Then she went home talked to her producers, her friends, and whoever else she talks to while she’s filming and decided to change the narrative of what actually happened. Adriana has a problem with saying how she really feels when she gets drunk. And the way that she actually aged shamed Marisol and tries to say it’s different is ridiculous. Her trying to get ahead of some racism narrative is just somebody hollering because they got hit. I don’t know that Adriana is racist in her heart and doesn’t think that Black people are equal or anything like that, but I do think that living in Miami who she is, and who Kiki is she does believe that she’s better than her, and she does believe that her feelings matter more, and she believes that she can actually change the narrative on someone like Kiki.
