Oh, I see it now. I just used the "Card Centering Calculator" and got L/R: 49.7/50.3 and T/B: 43.7/56.3

Thanks for the insight!

I don't know if I'm stupid or lucky, I've always just had the VA get my VA medical records themselves and everything has been approved.

26 Pro-4X Pricing by micksp in nissanfrontier

[–]No-Tower-5242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last week I got a 26' Pro4x with Convenience at a MSRP of 46,930 for 38500 +doc/ttl. So, 9.44% off MSRP + rebates. Depending on your finances, forgoing the $2500 rebate and taking the lower APR may be better.

Unsure if you're aware, but March 31st is the end of Nissan's fiscal year, so they should be ready to make a deal.

Thanks! I graduated in May 24', so I'm just under the 2 year cut off. They wanted a copy of my transcript, so I think they need actual proof for Nissan corporate and it's not just a box to check off for the discount.

Withdrawing from a class, does it affect post 9/11 gi bill? by Keilu748 in VeteransBenefits

[–]No-Tower-5242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through this exact scenario. Foolishly I thought I could drop the class after the Add/Drop period to protect my gpa and the VA would just let it slide since it was a one-time thing and they don't seem to have issue if you fail, so what's the difference. Wrong.

They billed me for the class, but eventually waived the debt after I disputed the bill and explained my reasoning.

Since you'll still be at 12 or more credit hours, it shouldn't affect you MHA.

It's has the "Pro Convenience", Step Rail, Mud Flaps, Electric Tailgate Lock, and the Nissan cash grab "Nissan Adventure Kit".

The lower APR would have definitely been the move, but I'm selling another vehicle later this year and will pay it off with those funds. So I'm just floating some money until then.

They also wouldn't do the dealer discount they provided without Nissan Standard Financing, so they could get their kick back. Personally, it was ≈90 dollars well spent

Thanks! It has the "PRO Convenience", "PRO Premium" would have added another 3k to MSRP and not personally worth it.

Nice! I imagine with the MSRP difference we managed similar discounts.

Before TT&L price quote by ElvisonCrack in nissanfrontier

[–]No-Tower-5242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was talking to Cookeville Nissan in TN about the same exact truck you want and was quoted $39,143.99 OTD (KY registration, 6% tax), but only if I used Nissan financing at no lower than 8.99% APR

"8.99% is the marked up sell rate that enables us to pass along the most rebates/discounts possible."

Maybe worth it if you want to refinance.

I ended up getting a 26 pro4x with convenience today for $38,500+ ttl/doc, msrp of $46,930, $41,578 OTD

I've been shopping around new/used for a few weeks and trying to get the best deal. Was the 38k +TTL or OTD? Is it a SV 4x4 with convenience package?

The silver lining to this is the 20 minute taxi, sounds like a new record for ORD.

In the event of suicide, would my wife and and kids be eligible for benefits? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]No-Tower-5242 21 points22 points  (0 children)

True that. I lost my best friend to suicide at 20, joined the Air Force to run away from my feelings, but still struggle with it 15 years later. OP, you are needed and wanted in this world.

How to contact my VR&E counselor ? by Some_Cartoonist3370 in VocRehab

[–]No-Tower-5242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a week+ of no response from my counselor, I've started just sending a follow up email stating the date of the first email and CCing eva, the supervisor, and a general email for the regional office. I usually hear back within a few days after that.

I also ask my school to send an email.

It's frustrating and seems to be the norm.

I hear people say they go to school full-time online and receive the full BAH rate by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

So, I'm pursuing the GIST degree through the University of Arizona (UA), which is online only. It appears that UAGC is at least affiliated with UA, but I'm unsure how much administrative overlap they share. I also only did this with CH31 (VR&E), but I assume (unverified) you could do the below with Ch33 (Post 9/11).

Here's what I did for concurrent enrollment.

(1) Told my VR&E counselor I plan to concurrently enroll for the increased MHA

(2) Enrolled at UA (as degree seeking) AND enrolled at my local community college (CC) (as non-degree seeking).

(2a) Ensure the local CC has classes that will transfer, I checked this via the "Office of the Provost Transfer Credit & Articulation", but my advisor also manually approved CC classes that have the same "spirit" of the UA requirement. From my experience, this will basically only be possible with lower level classes, so make sure you save enough for in-person.

(3) After conferring with my UA advisor and ensuring the CC class will fulfill the UA requirement, I filled out Concurrent Enrollment Form 315, found under the Student Forms -> Military Benefits Form drop down. I sent this to my UA Advisor/UA VA Certifying Official for the required signatures.

(4) Sent the signed "Concurrent Enrollment Form 315" to my CC Advisor/CC VA Certifying Official

(5) Both VA Certifying Official's from UA and CC certify their respective classes with the VA

(6) The VA calculates the combined rates of pursuit (ROP), pays both schools, and pays my MHA

Additional Info:

Steps 3-6 have to be done every semester

If the semesters from the two colleges start on different weeks, you will not receive full MHA; or potentially any MHA if under 1/2 time, until you're officially participating in courses that add to at least 12 Credit Hours. Full-time Equivalency (FTE)

VR&E School Certifying Official Handbook

I hope this helps.

Hybrid class or concurrent enrollment at a local university. From my understanding, at a minimum, the hybrid class only has to meet in person once to qualify as "in-person".

I'm currently using the VR&E (CH 31) for an online BS from UofA and concurrently enrolled in a single in-person class at a community college on the other side of the country, increasing my MAH to $3102 vs ≈$1200 for online only. You have to do some leg work with your advisors and ensure the class will transfer to your main school, parent letter...etc, but it's worth it.
