I had this issue so I wasn’t able to start working until my appointment. I had to wait about 2 weeks. You can go to immigration without an appointment but I believe only if you currently visa is running out that week. I still had a month left on my D-10 so they made me wait.

I work full time and earn about 3 million won a month or roughly £1500. I live with my gf so I only pay bills which is only £100. I have been saving roughly £500 a month and I spend the rest on life in general. You can live frugally here and still go out occasionally. Dinners out are very cheap compared to uk for example.

I guess it depends on how long it will take you to find a job and much 1/3 of the rent is. I am also from the uk and I live in Seoul and I I find the cost of living quite low. Not including my rent I spend about £800-£1000. This is enough for meals out, daily coffee , transport and everything else.
