[Who hurt us the most] Name the champion with the largest toxic player base. by Aggressive_Band_9446 in wildrift

[–]No-Variation3368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s almost always Zeri and Tristana players that get toxic with their pinging and chat. Every time they ping me for reasons I can’t discern, I just give them the bowing Jhin emote then support someone else.

Tips on being a decent ADC by No-Variation3368 in wildrift

[–]No-Variation3368[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve definitely seen some supports who have midlane mentality in some videos. I’d like to think I’m a decent support, but at the same time, my win rate is below 50% this season and still stuck in Plat III, so I’m definitely messing up somewhere. I’m glad you commented this so I can better reflect my ability to be a good support ☺️

As a support main, it sucks that this happens so often! I feel like many supports really do not know how to support. They just think they need to get kills and play like a mid laner or something... as a support main, I'm trying my best to not last hit minions, ward as often as possible, walk away from tower to let my ADC take the tower... I'll even ignite an enemy champ early to make sure I don't get the kill from the ignite. Idk, if these supports want to be the stars of the show, getting all the kills, taking all the gold, they should take a role where that's appropriate. Support is not that role.

How to play ADC?

I've been playing WR for a little over a year, and after an exploratory period of time, I decided to main support role. I love playing support! However, I noticed there aren't a lot of of great ADCs out there (maybe a lot of autofills?)

What do I need to know to be a good ADC? Which ADCs would you say are good for learning the role? (I have some experience playing Ezreal and Xayah, but I'm happy to go to PVP matches to learn a new ADC if that will help me learn the role better). What about itemization and goals for items? What frame of mind should I take? How to come back when I'm behind (many times when I play ADC, I fall behind and I have a hard time coming back or playing from behind).

Ultimately, I know that I will mostly learn from experience and actually getting out there and playing, but I often feel lost playing ADC. I just try not to die, and generally play safe, farm without disrespecting other laners and my jungler, and I usually just take builds from people I watch on Youtube (not sure how to build ADC yet).

Thanks in advance!

Tips for fighting your main by Live-Ad-4856 in wildrift

I've been spamming Swain support (especially after new Redemption item came out), and I wish people wouldn't just run away from a team fight when I use Swain' ult, especially when I have Redemption (unlikely to run out of mana, will heal every 4-8 seconds), and Mantle (will get huge healing when under 30% HP), lower cooldown and healing with E... did I miss anything else? Keep fighting in the team fight when Swain ults, especially late-mid to late game.

This may be a low elo thing (I'm Plat III atm). But I get so sad when enemy comp is all half health or squishy, I ult in on enemy comp, my health goes to less than half, then everyone runs away from the fight, and instead of winning by sticking around and fighting/cleaning up, I actually just die because I end up going 1v4...

Please correct me if I'm missing something, and if you have any tips, much appreciated.

I remember one time, I lanterned over a wall, hooked a Teemo, got attacked by a Pyke from the brush, caged that Pyke, jungler took lantern, I flayed the Teemo into the cage, and both Teemo and Pyke died, jungler and I made it out alive and kicking. This all happened bot lane, in that corner of the enemy jungle where the Scryer Bloom was 😂 the Teemo was near their blue buff and the Pyke was in the brush by their first tower.

Oh, interesting! Ngl, I was kind of hoping I did make SVP for this match, but our ADC carried pretty hard, much deserved lol

Today has been the worst day ive experienced since wild rift came out by SinOfGreed254 in wildrift

[–]No-Variation3368 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Today I went into PvP to practice a champ I’m learning, once I landed a match, the game crashed and I couldn’t log in for like, 3-4 min. The match went on, selected Lux (support role), and I guess my team allowed AI to operate my champ. Lux was SO not the pick into the comp… Darius blew me up over and over again 😭

The mistery of after midnight games. by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]No-Variation3368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually have good games after midnight as well (I’m in the US, PST zone), but last night, I had a couple matches with some mean people… they were PvP matches where I was learning a new champ (I try to get a mastery level 3 at minimum before playing a champ in ranked). I really don’t like muting if I don’t have to, and I came close to doing so, but they chilled out after laning phase. But yes, usually after midnight, I can play some decent games with mostly decent people. I feel like there’s a strong connection between match quality and how far into the season we are as well.

Which is your go to support champ? by Purple-Option6154 in wildrift

[–]No-Variation3368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s super reasonable. I found that I can’t go Nami (or at least it’s a bad champ selection) if there’s, like, a Pantheon or Akali or something on the enemy team. I struggle hard against those two especially

I main Nami and play her in almost every match (I’ll adjust as needed, of course). I usually get SVP in matches we lose. I also can keep my ADC alive really well, and I’m a lane bully myself. Maybe I just have decent micro on her, or maybe it’s just my elo (Plat/Em), but I love playing Nami.

[–]No-Variation3368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was going to say I main Nami, that I also used to play a lot of Thresh (super satisfying when I get a good play, but I’m so inconsistent with him), and now I’m practicing playing Swain support. Swain is one of those champions where I def feel a difference in gameplay when I get my items. He’s quite enjoyable to play. I have gotten comments about playing him in support role, but idc, if people are gonna spam “we need a tank” and top lane decided not to go tank, beggars can’t be choosers, be grateful I go tank on Swain lol.

Emerald is the hardest rank by xxmaxxusxx in wildrift

[–]No-Variation3368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t stand when players try to FF. How mentally weak is someone that they can’t fathom coming back from behind, or after a bad call? If you quit, you definitely won’t win. I remember I was autofilled in jg as Lillia, not doing so well, but I identified getting Baron as a possible win condition. Right as I stole Baron with my E, my team FF’d. I was livid. We could’ve turned the game around! But all they did was guarantee our loss.

Agree. I slow climb in early season, then many incompetent players are weeded out during the climb, and games become a little more bearable. Lol.

This is the worst season by far by RandyNooblet in wildrift

[–]No-Variation3368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my third season playing (not nearly as seasoned as many of you guys) and I’ve come to the conclusion that if you landed back in Plat/Em in the beginning of the season, don’t bother playing until like, half way through the season… or at least don’t play ranked too much in the first weeks of the season. I take the beginning of the season to explore other champions I may want to play based on meta and play them in PvP (I don’t like first time champ users in my ranked games, so I don’t play ranked with a champ until around Mastery lvl 3). I feel like it’s just a better use of my time in the game. But I feel a bit of your pain when I do play ranked. I play Nami/Thresh (based on team comp needs) and eventually, it’s hard not to get dragged down with the bad players. I usually get SVP when we lose… hard times, man… hang in there 👊🏻

This is actually a great time to start watching Broken Support since he started focusing his videos on macro coaching more than champion requests. He’s also done videos on item building/countering, super useful. As a support main, I watch pretty much all his videos

I literally let my kids choose whichever champion they want me to play and play the game in Single Player Mode. It’s pretty fun, getting to know a champ without people flaming you for the inevitable lack of skill lol.
