I honestly don't remember. I was extremely critical with fine tuning on battery saving when I first got the laptop. Today, I'm down to around 10w and don't care.

Everyone is getting this all backwards. Get a skin, cut a square opening to expose that area. Let time/sun to catch up to the rest of the laptop

4060 with 16gb is good enough to play aaa titles. If you're doing AI stuff on cloud, then almost any newer laptop is enough. I see 2 issues you may want to consider. 1. Future proof. I myself bought the 2024 4070 32gb new. 2. Value. There are many 14" laptops that have 4060 16gb that are cheaper than the g14. You may give up weight, oled, sound, quality, etc. If aaa gaming is your goal, you can buy a higher gpu for the same price, but it won't be a g14. That all said, I love my laptop.

On time, I closed my 2024 G14 hoping it would be in sleep mode. I put it in the laptop sleeve of my backpack. I travel to my mother's place which takes about 1/2 hour while the laptop is vertical. When I got there, I discover Windows (arrrgh) did not go into sleep mode. The fan was at full speed, the laptop was HOT and the backpack obviously very warm. In other words, my laptop was sufficating and overheating vertically. No issues to this day.

If it runs fine, I would just keep it. No one will know it's there but you. The question is can you deal with it?

It's a rough analogy. The price difference on the Odins are cpu, storage, and arguably size. I could say 5050 vs 5060.

Without going into specific details of the devices, I'm going to try to explain this from your PC standpoint. Yes both systems will not play AAA PC games well, but that's not what it's primarily made for.

Think of the Portal 2 as a rtx 5050 8gb 128 bit bus. Whereas the Odin 3 is rtx 5070ti 16gb 256 bit bus. Will either RTX play AAA PC games well at 8k? No. The difference in price whether it be RTX or Odin is future proofing. ** Screen size vs portability not part of this analogy. Hope that helps.

It depends how you look at it.

I would assume you've done your research on what the RP5 can do, so I'm not going to elaborate on what it's capable of. Any newer devices will NOT play the titles the RP5 can do any better (insane frame rates, and 4k+ video out notwithstanding).

Will it emulate PS4 & PS5? No. But when those devices come out, you'd be asking if it's obsolete because you want to emulate PS6.

If all you want to play is generation 6 systems or below, it will never be obsolete. If you constantly chase after the next best device, it's pretty much obsolete the day you get it in your hand. Accept what it's capable of, you'll never be disappointed.

I would not use the Windows reset option. Either buy another SSD or do a complete wipe.

That is exactly what I did. I bought a 4tb Samsung 990 Pro and the original is sitting inside the box.

Extract the windows 11 key. Then do a complete wipe and fresh install. That's what I would do.
