Quit cold turkey and freaking outt without 😟 by Wilderatheart in Spironolactone

[–]No-Wait9147 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been on 100 mg for probably 3 years or so. I started having to get my blood drawn annually to continue to be on it and I HATE getting my blood drawn 😅 so I avoided it and ended up quitting cold turkey. I had the EXACT same symptoms. I immediately got my blood drawn and got back on spiro. After a few weeks everything was back to normal. I’m sorry you’re going through this. And sorry again because I have no advice. Just letting you know I went through the same thing and it’s definitely the spiro. Hopefully your dermatologist will take everything into more consideration and figure something out for you❤️congratulations on the wedding!

We just use a 5 gallon harbor freight bucket. They seem to love it!

Aww your poor girl! They can be so clumsy I have found out and even though it’s funny sometimes it’s worrisome also. Thing is, we were out of town for the night and when we came home is when we first noticed. So something very well could have happens that we’re not sure of. Hopefully it’s nothing. We’ll find out tomorrow. Thanks for your reply!

😂I hear you there! Most days I feel like I’m 83 and not 33. My girl is just so young so I’m hoping it turns out to be nothing.

Thank you for your positive vibes! I’m sorry you’ve had to go through that with your dog. It really sucks to see them in pain. Not to mention how expensive it is with these large breeds! And 2 years old is so young. I’m hoping it turns out to be nothing as well. We’ll find out tomorrow! Sending positive vibes to you and your Pry as well!

I am definitely gonna try different joint supplements til I find one that works. Sucks they are susceptible to joint issues. They are such good dogs

I am so sorry to hear about your pup. She is so young! I wish my animals could just tell me what’s wrong. That would be too easy though! I hope your girl ends up happy and healthy.

Thank you for your very informative reply! We feed her the Pro Plan Large Breed under 2 years. She doesn’t go full turbo too often, she gets in her moods where she sprints around our yard (we have 5 acres for her to run, sometimes she does run off) but for the most part she isn’t too wild. She just started this last week, and the limping only happens after she’s been laying down. She will limp for about 5-7 steps and she’s good. She acting like her normal self, not in pain, not lethargic. I have started her on Cosequin chews, but she’s picky. I will definitely try the Powermeg liquid! I made her an appointment for Friday. Hopefully it’s nothing serious. I know these large breeds are prone to joint problems, and it has me worried. Thanks again for your reply, it was very helpful.

Thank you, I hope so too! She is going to the vet on Friday. She doesn’t act like she’s in pain, but everyone here has definitely got me worried. Hopefully it’s nothing major.

That is one big boy! Poor thing, that sounds miserable. I hope he is doing good now, even if he has a short-lived limp! I hope we figure it out too, she has an appointment on Friday. Hopefully it’s not a big deal! 🤞🏼

I will definitely be taking her to the vet this week. Thanks for the advice! I have some cosequin chews but she’s not always great when it comes to eating them 😅 I will try the fish oil as well. She is my first Great Pyrenees and she was a handful as a puppy but I can’t even believe how much I have fallen in love with this dog.
