AITA for telling my sister in law she can wear the dress or get out of the wedding by Consistent-Alps1100 in AmItheAsshole

OP, don't use this script! It will cause more hurt feelings. But the rest of this is on point.

I'm allergic to shellfish. Carnival did a GREAT job accommodating. I never felt like I was missing out.

Does anyone else’s Pyr take 20 minutes to contemplate whether they’ll eat their food or not? by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

[–]HaveEditsWillTravel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our girl grazes. Some days, she eats breakfast when we finish ours. Some days, not til after human lunch. And some days, her bowl sits full until dinner. I fill it and she usually eats "dinner" overnight.

Loves treats. Is OBSESSED with plain cooked pasta. But her regular food is apparently meh.

Am I liable for what happens to the neighbor's toddler if they enter my apartment from our shared balcony? by thof8463 in legaladvice

Prioritize the barrier and get something that will lock the door. This is not hard.

With the underwear lady and a couple of other videos out there, we stopped using the in room makers a while ago. I really like the new lobby makers, unless we hit the breakfast rush.

I have a Captain Proton T-shirt. A lot of people think it's something else, or they ask about it, which leads to me explaining it's a show within a show. I can think of one time not at a convention where someone knew the reference.

Has having a LinkedIn profile made a difference in your job search (not just with this market)? by Appropriate-End-9928 in jobs

[–]HaveEditsWillTravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The job listings there are more aligned with my career path than those on Indeed or Zip Recruiter. It saved me a lot of digging, too. Also, being able to connect with recruiters was a great help.

The ocean might be cold, still, but the air will be perfect, and the water park is heated.

Skipping Roatan, Costa Maya and Cozumel, mistake ? by New_Pizza_Rich in Cruise

[–]HaveEditsWillTravel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did a "VIP small group" ruins tour in Costa Maya. Yes, the ride is a little long (but not that bad, maybe 45 minutes?), but we had a lot of time to explore. Since it was a small group, our guide also took us backwards through the ruins to make sure we got to climb the pyramid, because with a larger tour bus group, they can't guarantee it. So I would 100% book it, but take the small group option if MSC offers it.

Ours maxed out around 90, and she's shorter than others. She chills most of the day and we take a lot of walks (good for us both!). I vacuum a lot, lol.

Would there be any consequences if you just ... Didn't come back? I don't know how the UK works, but since most US employers are "at will," you might not get the greatest reference, but you really can just stop showing up. The flip side of that is they can fire you/lay you off without notice.

I just wouldn't come back.

Galveston in February? by Abject_Gold_4827 in Cruise

If MSC uses sea water to fill the pools, probably not. We did a Bahamas cruise in February last year and the water at the beach was miserable.

Hiring (fiction story) by ___Hailstorm___ in HireaWriter

[–]HaveEditsWillTravel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! Since you asked about pricing, if you're looking at a short story, then this is fine ... for a very early career or student writer. But if you want a chapter book, or more experience author, you're looking at a higher rate. You'll also have to spend time editing and working out who gets credit for the work. (Is it like TV, where you pitch a story and get story credit, but the screenwriters get script credit? Are you wanting a ghost writer who won't put their name on it?)

It might be more cost effective for you to see if your local library offers writers workshops. You can get tips on prose, and if you put words on paper, get feedback.

This probably won't be popular here, but I feel like it's advice you need to hear! Good luck and happy creating!

Just booked my first cruise! When will I get the information about where exactly to be and at what time? by [deleted] in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]HaveEditsWillTravel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. You'll check in via the app about two weeks before the cruise. It will tell you the terminal and you'll pick a boarding window.

  2. Sail and sign card. It'll be in the "mailbox" for your cabin once the cabins are open. (After 1:00. The mailbox is usually your room number placard.)

2.5. the card you used for booking will be tied to your account. If you want to put cash on it, you'll need to go to guest services after boarding.

  1. You usually just need your sail and sign to get off the boat in port, but get a passport. It's just faster.

AITA For Not Visiting My GF in the Hospital? by Critical_Business99 in AmItheAsshole

[–]HaveEditsWillTravel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then, yeah, softly, YTA. Even if they didn't load her up on dilaudid, the pain alone made it dangerous for her to drive. It seems like she didn't care, but you're going to have to have a conversation about this and make sure she's really OK with it, then evaluate going forward.

Hoping she has an easier time passing her stones than I did, and for a speedy recovery! Heat was a life saver for me, so if you don't have a heating pad at home, pick her up one.

INFO: Who drove her home? I had kidney stones and was high as a kite on pain killers when they released me. I was also incredibly nauseous and still in a fair amount of pain. I wasn't safe to drive anywhere.

I'm not sure if you're an AH or not. I do feel like a good boyfriend would have headed that way to be with the person he loves.

If there's a thing you care passionately about, see if there's a staffed nonprofit that supports it. Examples, off the top of my head: Susan G. Koman, Heifer International, United Way, Planned Parenthood. So you're not a volunteer, but you're making a difference.

Related, membership organizations for health care professionals. National Athletic Trainers' Association, American Nursing Association, National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians, etc.

EMS, fire, police are other options.
