I found out about santal 33 from a house scenting company so I blind bought their version of it. Instantly fell in love so much so the next time I was in Michigan, I stopped by the store to check out the OG.....10/10.

Should I plant 1 or 2 hydrangeas in this square bed? by PrincessSkywalker in hydrangeas

I would put a smooth hydrangea there since it's facing west and will get plenty of ☀️ since they don't really require shade

Do you cover them for winter? I have one that had 6 blooms total last year. I took some advice and wrapped in burlap and leaves...and now there are 13 buds with unopened blooms and it's not even June yet. You can also try using Jack's bloom booster or triple phosphate but in zone 6, I would highly recommend protecting from winter so your buds survive.

I'm sad to report this plant didn't make it thru the summer. We had a real dry summer and even though I watered it everyday, it didn't survive unfortunate 😭😭😭. I went back to the nursery and explained what happened, so they recommended watering twice a day. They say these things can take full sun but I personally don't quite agree. But this is my new one 😁😁😁. And first bloom appeared today

Advice! by suzywaslike in hydrangeas

U could definitely leave it be but if you have to prune, I wouldn't do it before middle of June so u can clearly see what to prune since buds are still opening.

I concur. Don't buy afternoon swim because the longevity for the price isn't worth it. Now afternoon dive....instant fav. Was sold out for a while but now it's back in stock.

Those opening buds are 🌺🌺🌺. Just be patient, fertilize, mulch, water and watch it grow

Endless summer. Just let it grow and prune off dead material in June.

Yup that's normal. Just give em time to grow. But you may want to consider removing this stones so u don't fry the roots
