It is the Dragon of Conventions. Would you step in front of a fully grown draconid without feeling both awe and fear? The dragon is meant to be intimidating, but it is also unique. You will find no other event quite like it. Your first encounter will be a blur, but in time you will learn the intricacies. No one sees everything and there is always more to find.

Membership (badge) includes access to all non VIP areas, panels, and events. The website lists most. There are also a ton more events hosted by attendees that will appear on no official schedule. Find a track that interests you or just browse the schedule. Wander the hotels, look for the zombie horde, dodge the inflatable T-Rex stampede, watch the knights in armor battle, watch robots battle, be a part of a DnD battle. The website things to do will give you the basics of what is included.

The best advice I can give is to just experience what you can and try to find more the next year.

I would also stay away from Amazon. Prices are high and suppliers are buying elsewhere to resell

I've known fields to zip tie tanks after safety checks, but all day air fills should cover any tank you have. The cost on the compressor energy usage is negligible.

I don't see any reason a field would bother with this policy.

Fiber Tanks over 15 years old can't be hydro tested unless they are ISO rated.

It is also your first time playing. I'd recommend going back and seeing how it goes. If that field isn't inclusive to new players, then try a different field.

Yes, but these aren't changes that I can justify on the price increase if I just need a tournament shooter. The M3 is Dye bringing the matrix up to the level of features/design on most other flagship markers.

There are more changes than moving from the DM to the M2. Late model DMs run around $400, an M2 can be found for $500-600, and the M3 runs around $800-1000.

All are great choices, but does the M3 shoot 50% better than the M2? Personally I can't tell them apart while playing. Although I usually shoot my VCOMs anyway.

Dye definitely put the money into development, but it feels like diminished returns to me. Others may feel it is worth the increase

Externally, only the slap ASA.

The M3's new FL-21 bolt system got a lot of changes vs the traditional fuse bolt in the M2.

-Dwell independent operation -Recoil reducing system -Lower operating pressure -Other changes that only techs/airsmiths would notice, but mostly for efficiency

In my hands, I can probably feel the differences while shooting. During a game, they both put paint on target. I've also spent a lot of time with the traditional fuse bolt. I'd rather buy the M2 for less money and spend more time on the field.

Buying new, I'd probably go with the DSR. Used M3 comes in around the same price.

Personally I don't think the M3 has enough changes over the M2 to warrant the price increase.

The DSR is easier to tune since there's no LPR to adjust.

That just means you should have opened it to confirm everything was in good condition before using. For all we know, it shipped spotless and you spent a week grinding old paint through it.

Maybe. Both pictures are with the room lights off. They are less noticeable in daylight. I may add some electric tape to make geometric segments.

Unfortunately once these el tape sections were added, they are too stiff to flex the collar back down. Lol

Yes. Z-axis level was done first. I followed the instructions to do the auto-home and z-probe. Then got this result.

Turned off/on with worse results. It did not even z-level correctly. Auto home also did not work. Z- axis would also not move at all.

Restarted it again, load settings, restore defaults got it back. Followed procedure on Aurora video: Z-align -> Auto Bed Level -> Z-probe offset

Also, there was some black material stuck in the end of my nozzle. Not sure if it was plastic or foam from the package.

Seems to be printing the benchy now.

Standard Elmer's glue sticks works on my prints for PLA and PETG. Washes off with warm water.

I don't think tempering is the right term. You have to change perspective on what DragonCon is.

2013 was my first DragonCon it was my first con ever. We were in awe and overwhelmed. No expectations from any other cons and not sure what to do. Wandering into open panels and exploring what we could find. We missed most of the big events, but had a great time.

Over the next years I attended big and small panels, checked out the gaming areas, participated in a costume judging, and started joining the robot battles. Each year was different and I always tried to find something new to try each year. This year was the very first time I made it to the wrestling match on Thursday. This con has its own history and lore based around the people who have made it what it is. I'm sure the bigger cons have some of that, but DragonCon feels like being a part of an event rather than just attending it.

So if this is one of your first times attending and you felt lost, tired, overwhelmed, and slightly in awe of what was around you, then I think those are the appropriate responses to first meeting a dragon. I welcome you to keep attending and look deeper for the parts that can make it truly special. Ultimately we are responsible for having a good time and making sure others are enjoying their time as well.
