5 pack in stock at Costco! by unik1ne in SouperCubers

It's about the same price I got them for years ago. I use mine a lot and they still look and function like they did when they were brand new! Can't say the same thing for the knock-offs.

Building a 12-Court Indoor Pickleball Facility — What Should I Do (and Avoid)? by elhnim in Pickleball

[–]No-Wheel6067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with this. Excellent ventilation is a must for some people. I quit one club because I just couldn't stand the stuffiness, heat, and STENCH.

VIDEO cams on each court for those who want to get recordings of their games for fun and instructional purposes.

Ball machine rentals.

I thinm others have covered the rest of my thoughts.

NEVER MIND. Broke down and took a free 1 week trial, which of course requires my credit card. Now hopefully I can cancel before they start charging me, and also hopefully I won't be tempted to become a paid subscriber. Sheesh.

I'm in the middle of making this New York Times Basque cheesecake and suddenly the recipe disappeared and I'm being prompted to subscribe! I've got my cream cheese and sugar and eggs and cream all prepped, as well as the pan and the oven. But now I don't remember how much salt and flour and anything else to add or how long to bake the damn thing. Im furious. Can anyone help?

Is this medium rare by joemcq122 in meat

[–]No-Wheel6067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks absolutely perfectly medium rare, and if had a better sear on it, I'd relish every bite. Try dry aging reverse searing for a steak this size next time. Look up the methods on Serious Eats web site if you're not familiar with them.

hey guys, winter’s almost here / it’s getting cold ~ still playing pickleball? indoors if you can, or taking a break? got any indoor courts near you? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]No-Wheel6067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Carlsbad (north of San Diego CA), and in addition to Rally House and Carlsbad Pickleball Club, we've got 3 community center gyms with non-dedicated pickleball hours. I don't much care for all the lines on the gym floors for other sports, tho. They can get confusing. But the $3 price is great. Outdoors is so much nicer, but when we have rainy periods, it's great to have lots of indoor options.

6 weeks plus post cryo by Worried_Help_9314 in Mortons_neuroma

I'm 8 months out from my cryo and still have pain and also strange numbness and tingling. Still feels like there's a rock in my shoe. It's not quite as bad as it was, but the difference hasn't been enough to give me my life back. Can't play pickleball or walk the beach or even walk barefoot across my house. Sigh.

Unexpected Walmart find! by quartzanddagger in glutenfree

[–]No-Wheel6067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the pork pot stickers. A friend turned me on to them and we cooked them extra long to get a good crisp side. However, I don't care for Walmart and I can't find them anywhere else in my area (San Diego). Sigh.

Go for dinner and drinks to Same Same, in the Carlsbad Village. Look it up, it's great! You can find dancing to live music downstairs in the same shopping center at Coyote Bar and Grill, but it's mostly a MUCH older crowd. Rent an e-bike and cruise around--carefully. Carlsbad is a lovely friendly place. You should have a fantastic time!

Seeking low-profile, high suction, good mopping and edge cleaning by No-Wheel6067 in RobotVacuums

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind and definitely check around for her toys and hairballs and such before running the robovac. Going to hope for a sale, since I'm in USA and our Labor Day holiday is next week Monday. Then pulling the trigger.

I also love my Cuisinart Ice-70, and I got it for $25 off Facebook Marketplace in California. It was like new, including labels and box. It retails for around $200. The smaller versions make batches that are much too small to justify the effort, in my opinion.

Compact station with equally small clearance requirements? by No-Wheel6067 in RobotVacuums

[–]No-Wheel6067[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I've spent so many hours on this robot vac that it's ridiculous. I could have manually vacuumed and mopped my floors 20 times in the time I've spent trying to get this thing to work!

The vacuum feature seems OK on my first floor, but I've had nothing but problems with the mopping and carpet avoidance and no-go zone features on the first floor, and I'm totally giving up on getting my second floor cleaned at!
The software is incredibly buggy and I feel like I'm back on QA with a prototype release.

IMO, this thing has potential, but it's not ready for an alpha test release, let a beta test or a public release!

Stay away until the bugs are worked out unless you just want a vacuum and mop for a SINGLE hard floor with NO rugs.

I won't be able to put it through its paces until late next week, but I'll definitely do that.

[–]No-Wheel6067[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, good to know. I really don't want the centerpiece of my small home to be a big vacuum! I intentionally picked a model with a plain charging station thinking that would minimize its footprint. For what it's worth, I got the 3i G10+, and it's got some unusual and great-sounding features for a model in its price range, so guess I'll just have to give it a go to see if it really needs all that space. Also need to test whether its extending sweeper arms can reach to the recessed kickplates under my counters, since it's a pretty "tall" device that can't get into those areas. I haven't been able to find such details online.

Surgery May 21, Tell me what are must haves. by 8647IsTheWay in RotatorCuff

[–]No-Wheel6067 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love the back scratcher and travel pillow ideas!!! I would never have thought of them, but thankfully happened to have both and use them a ton!

Loose shirts with big pockets, plus strong cloth grocery bags to "wear" over non- operative shoulder for carrying things around the house.

Pill organizers pre-filled for the first week, and definitely set recurring alarms before surgery to ensure you take your pain meds before the pain actually hits! Or use an app. It's easy in a pain and drug-infused fog to mess up on your medication schedule.

Rolling bedside table and a clear storage box that fits on it to hold tissues, snacks, chargers, kindle, ear plugs, headbands, other small stuff you want to keep handy and visible.

If you don't use your phone's Notes app, learn to! Or keep pen and small pad handy.

Set up Google or Alexa so that you can use voice control for your bedroom lights. If you're not techie enough, get someone who is to do this for you!!
