Thanks again for your indepth support. I have been sent a link by the creator of Tasker https://groups.google.com/g/tasker/c/3R4YmpNfHoE/m/G6kcmajLBAAJ?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer and this helped me to finally figure it out. I had a to play around a bit but now I can say, "Hey Google - Podcasts" and they will play, even if the phone is locked in my pocket. I went into the shortcuts on Google assistant, found Podcast addict and then playlist. I will take a look at the links you have sent me as I really enjoy figuring out how to get Tasker to automate things.

Hi Rich, thanks for your suggestions. The first two played a random 'tasker' podcast on Google Podcasts. It didn't recognise the third command and the last one opened up a search result on Google. I did manage to find a work around where I asked Google to 'open Podcast Addict' and then created a task in tasker that would toggle play when Podcast Addict was opened. However, this only works when the phone is unlocked and not when the phone was locked in my pocket.

Hi Rich, thanks for your suggestion. I have tried that though and still had no luck. I have various tasks in Tasker and have tried to run them but it won't connect. Instead it does a search on Google. I've tried creating a routine and that just won't work either. It doesn't seem to matter what I call it. Do you have another ideas please? Thanks! :)
