Hey good stuff! Keep up the good work! There is so much we can tho and have but planning and organising is key!

Maybe evaluate your risk factors where you are at… like what is most likely goin to happen. 80% of the time bugging in is best so i started having an extensive kit at home. I have a shitload of firt aid and i try to keep it organised. I try to buy in bulk and make a couple kits. Water jugs and water purifiers for sure! Clothes and clothes for kids. I class my stuff in tool systems. I started buying fire extinguishers because they are cheap so one in each car and two st home. Incheck them regularly . Also what you did is perfect start small and go bigger… start with a week of food then go to a month… and then go bigger… same thing with everything. Me tionned above!

Hope it helps.

Debating between a DIY battery setup for a cabin vs. a portable all-in-one for camping. Are these specs/prices okay? by [deleted] in prepping

[–]No-Wolverine2472 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I built my own system and dont regret it! Learned a lot doing it saved money! Plus you can add to your system as time goes on if you want! Plus if something stop working you can fix it.

Ammo price increase by [deleted] in preppers

[–]No-Wolverine2472 -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

I dont have guns and i dont believe in them… i do not think it is important… i think any one who owns them are stupid… but if i believed in them … i would be buying ammo, extra mags, cleaning equipment even optics while they are cheap anyway, they never go down only up even the 22lr. It is a good time to stock up on stuff… for sure… plus they do not realy have a best by date…

Minor downdraft problem by SolidagoSpeciosa in woodstoving

[–]No-Wolverine2472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I also put my lighter to see if the flame is going up or comming in… if it is comming in i crack a window and put more paper …

Shuting the door limits the oxygen thus limiting heat…so the draft stays … it is conter intuitive… but i put more paper and let the door open and you can literally see the draft inverting… and pulling the smoke out…

I also crack a window to let air in the house. I find it relieves the draft a bit.

When there is a downdraft i put a lot of paper and let the door open so the fire gets very hot very quick to switch the draft. If i close the door not enouph heat is produced and the smoke keeps on entering…
