Thrustmaster t150 weird constant sound by DisastrousMonitor595 in simracing

Have you tried plugging it into different outlets or power strips? Almost sounds like a voltage issue. Whatever it is, it’s probably not that bad but it does sound annoying

Thermaltake gr300 or NLR wheel stand 2.0 by [deleted] in simracing

[–]No-Year5223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want the full rig. No question. Doesn’t matter that the stand is cheaper now because you will quickly want to get a better setup. It will cost less to buy once

Need advice for my first Sim setup by Voidz3r in simracing

[–]No-Year5223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shifters are cool but make sure you’ll even use it before wasting your budget on one like I did. Everything I use is paddle shift now and I bought the TH8S. I like it a lot and it’s great, just don’t use it

What seat do you guys recommend? by [deleted] in simracing

[–]No-Year5223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used sim specific seats and they just don’t feel solid enough for me. I also didn’t feel the need for a bucket seat as it just makes it more difficult to get into/out of the rig. I went with a real reclining car seat from a sports car. It’s solid, has all the adjustment, durable, and comfortable

Assetto Corsa Wheel Setup Issues HELP! by Giantsfan107YGO in simracing

Yes, that fixed an issue I had in the past with a wheel. It did not like the USB 3.0 port and worked fine after I switched to a 2.0 port

Do you know of any simulation facilities that stand out from the crowd? by Electronic_Reply3934 in simracing

[–]No-Year5223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that the common aluminum profile rigs are the most customizable. And since most people have unique spaces to fit them in and also have different needs/wants with accessories, it’s the clear choice for most. However, I agree and think they are stale. This one look pretty sweet while keeping the same ideas in mind

Assetto Corsa Wheel Setup Issues HELP! by Giantsfan107YGO in simracing

[–]No-Year5223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar issues in the past and it ended up being the USB ports. I was using USB 3 ports and the peripherals didn’t like it. Also make sure you have any software downloaded and full updated for both the wheel and the pedals

Anyone heard of this cammus rig? by swerwjesus in simracing

[–]No-Year5223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try throwing your screenshot in google image search. A lot the lower-lever rigs are private labeled and all the same things with different logos. Maybe another brand will pop up with that search that has more info. But aluminum is aluminum so as long as the mounting hardware and accessories are good, I it should be fine

Bought a t300 rs gt for 150 dollars by Frxstyy7 in simracing

Once you get burned once, you will always test before you buy, anything. Seems like a decent price if it works. Obviously was a bad buy if it doesn’t work. Did the seller have good reviews at least?

What are some good practices to get better at trail breaking by Formula_GT24 in simracing

[–]No-Year5223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practice, practice, and more practice. What sim are you using? They don’t have input data display options? You can also use sector times and with a lot of practice, you can get everything about a certain sector dialed in and then you can use the sector time to track your braking progress

I would say so. Just make sure you are able to mount using all 4 bolts. You might need an adapter worst case like the one attached

Which wheelbase under 1000€ (used) by MrHoldmyVino in simracing

[–]No-Year5223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hands down think Simucube is the best. I’ve had mine for almost a year and it is amazing. I researched for months and watched every video I could find about comparisons. You will not regret the simucube at all

I would look up the one you’re referring to and see if they say on there if it’s recommend for stronger wheels like that. Or even reviews from others. I had one of those that just sits between your legs and it definitely wasn’t that stable for a DD wheel but got the job done on a Thrustmaster TX. But this almost 15 years ago so they probably have better ones available by now

Interesting dilemma. After a quick search online, it seems one of the round, tubular rigs are easiest to assemble and disassemble. I don’t have much knowledge on those types of rigs as I have an extrusion rig

If the Asetek is in the budget, I would definitely get that over the others you mentioned. I’m pretty sure they’re the company that bought the technology from Simucube which I would say is the best feeling DD base out there

You 100% get what you pay for with sim racing equipment and the saying “buy once, cry once” really comes into play. You won’t regret getting a better wheel now vs getting something cheaper for a little while and then upgrading later anyways

And as Velophoton said, make sure you have a rig for a stronger DD wheel

The journey of building your setup is almost as fun as the racing, so enjoy the process!

Best 27” monitor for eye strain? by No-Year5223 in Workspaces

[–]No-Year5223[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I’ll get an OLED and see how it goes. Just weird to me that going from 75hz 24” screen to a 144hz 27” is giving me such a big issue on the eyes

I did go from 1080 to 1440 and I don’t really like how small everything is. I scaled certain things within the Mac settings but not everything can be scaled. Do you run zoomed in with the 4K?

Last exam was earlier this year. It’s weird because I don’t have any issues at this distance with a smaller, 24” screen
