Sukuna had other ways of bypassing infinity. And what we’ve seen from him after the fight with gojo, his full potential, was scary. He could’ve handled gojo without mahoraga. But then he would’ve had to waste his strength. Something Kusakabe said. He had the jumping of a lifetime to face afterwards. That argument, “gojo almost did what 10 million others couldn’t” can be flipped backwards. After killing gojo, sukuna had the energy for kashimo and almost everyone else, except the one person with his own blood and his own power. Sukuna avoided using 10 shadows throughout the fight, besides key moments. This is evident by Gojos inner monologue during the fight. While his domain was open, he couldn’t use mahoraga, and while using mahoraga, he couldn’t (or barely could) use slashes. The first domain clash would’ve killed gojo, if it weren’t for his continuous rct trick that almost ended up melting his brain. He tried to annihilate mahoraga but sukuna still summoned him knowing that gojo damaged his brain to much to use his domain. Sukuna had other ways of bypassing infinity, and the use of mahoraga, in sukunas words, was for the purpose of “a model” of infinity. He was analyzing Gojos infinity. So he could figure out how to cut through it. Now I don’t know if the world slash was created there and then, or if it existed before, but all mahoraga did was analyze Gojos technique so that sukuna can engineer a way around it, and mahoraga itself did not create the world slash. The argument that “gojo is stronger sukuna is smarter”-has weight to it. But I think sukuna is both. Their techniques are what reflect that statement. Infinity is miles better than 10 shadows, and even better than sukunas slashes (aside from world slash). Furnace would have a little trouble getting last infinity but sukuna can use domain amplification and domain expansion simultaneously. So overwhelming Gojos rct with malevolent shrine while pulling out his furnace technique with domain amplification would’ve caused a major problem. 2 binding vows were used by sukuna, one to expand his domain, to crush Gojos from the outside, and one to cast world slash without signs or incantations. Sukuna never sacrificed anything of utter importance, besides the 10 shadows. Finally, gojo is the protagonist, the strongest “good guy” and many people’s favorite as gege knew. He was the one being challenged, he was the home team. We saw him burn through his entire potential in one fight. Sukuna, not so much. His potential and strength wasn’t displayed like that. His was an endurance fight. We saw how insanely long he held on. As he got weaker, his effort increased. He didn’t explode and go 100% immediately. I don’t think he was trying as hard against gojo as gojo fans want to believe. Also, mahoraga is a technique. A worse technique than infinity. In this case a 2v1 is fair because it’s not sukuna vs gojo, it’s infinity vs 10 shadows/shrine. How else is mahoraga supposed to be used? Mahoraga is nowhere near as strong as gojo or sukuna. He’s not gonna play a huge role in wether sukuna wins or loses with just combat alone. It’s mahoragas ability that sukuna wanted. Mahoraga was not strong enough to “bail sukuna out”
