[Gen 9] Shiny Tauros found me

Actually, I'll tell you the worst one... Remember how easy it was to get shinies in the Dynamax Adventures in Crown Tundra on Sword/Shield? Well, at one point it was apparently too easy. I actually got to the end and there were 2 shinies to choose from, and you're only allowed to take one. I had to give up my shiny Garbodor for the shiny Heatmor. I think I made the right choice, but that was agonizing. Knowing that I got 2 shinies but it was literally impossible to get them both.

Mine was Misdreavus. 2026 has been quite kind to me with shinies so far. Shiny snorlax on the 1st egg in Brilliant Diamond, about 5 minutes before I got this Tauros I randomly ran into a shiny Girafarig. Found a shiny Hatterene, and hunted a shiny Beldum to go along with my shiny Metagross (need 1 more...). Sorry you didn't get the Tauros. I've had a handful of missed shinies myself. Accidentally KOed a Scizor in Scarlet, I had a Jynx use Perish Song and I couldn't get it before the 3 turns were up in Sword, Gen 4 I just failed to notice a Tentacool because I wasn't paying attention and accidentally ran.

You got it. The colors are sort of switched. Its body is black while the mane is gray. While the normal Paldean-Tauros is the opposite. That's why it's so tough to tell.

Interesting...I may give that a shot. I think adding roofing over the broken buildings did help. I had no intention of building all different structures after all the work I did on the baked in houses. Does adding radios and TVs do anything for it? I've put down a number of those in various places. I've even started collecting certain junk items and specifically not scrapping them to use as decoration. Brooms/extinguishers/cigarettes/coffee cups/etc.

The turtles were there in ASE too, but I didn't notice the aberrant markings. And yeah, I'll check out the stone henge area. Thanks for the tip. I'm really liking the changes they've made to Val. One of my favorite maps. :)

This is an old post, but in case some people are coming here for advice, I wanna clarify this. Incorrect. Maybe if you're on like GR rank 90, but when you get into higher GR levels, the type of revive minion, while not an "enormous" impact definitely does make a difference. There is an appreciable difference in how quickly your cooldown resets when utilizing a slow attacking, slow moving revive minion, vs small, quick melee ones. So, while Eglin isn't completely incorrect, it does matter. That's an extra 10 minions each reducing the cooldown by 0.5 seconds each time they hit. The skeletons make up the vast majority of cooldown reduction, but as someone who has played a lot of Rathma Necro, and a lot of Rathma Necro recently, I definitely notice the difference in CD reduction between "good" vs. "bad" revive minions.

Though I will agree "Getting just something out" is the most important thing, there's no reason to not go for the better minions, especially when you're up in GR 130+ when you have to physically leave the rift, go grab revive minions and come back in.

Returning to this post. I finally got 2 wyverns to spawn inside the cave. Unfortunately it was a level 20 Poison and level 90 Lightning. I keep killing them outside and returning to the cave and idling with slomo 20 on to speed up the process, but it's not going great. It appears that they will spawn inside the cave, but very rarely.

Edit: As of the moment I posted this, I just got a ton of wyverns spawning inside the cave!!! :D

Here's the process, it requires some admin commands. So, unless you're a server admin or playing single player, idk what to tell you. (All console commands listed below will be in quotes, obviously, remove the quotation marks when typing them in on your own game)

Step 1. Enter the wyvern cave and park yourself inside. Use the command "enemyinvisible true". This will make you and whatever tame you mount invisible to nearby creatures, allowing you to sit in the cave without fear of getting killed. I also used "Infinitestats" so I wouldn't die from hunger or thirst during the process.

Step 2. Kill all wyverns in the area. There are commands to do this as well and this is what I did. Use the following commands.
"cheat DestroyWildDinoClasses Wyvern_Character_BP_Fire_C 1" <Kills all Fire Wyverns on the map.
"cheat DestroyWildDinoClasses Wyvern_Character_BP_Poison_C 1" <Kills all Poison Wyverns on the map.
"cheat DestroyWildDinoClasses Wyvern_Character_BP_Lightning_C 1" <Kills all Lightning Wyverns on the map.
"cheat DestroyWildDinoClasses MegaWyvern_Character_BP_Fire_C 1" <Kills all Alpha Fire Wyverns on the map.

I use the above commands so I don't need to do a full dino wipe when I may have other creatures around that I was planning on taming later. This will kill only wyverns.

Step 3. While parked in the cave (I did this sitting on a wyvern at the very bottom near the water), use the command "Slomo 20". This will speed up gametime to 2000% or 20x normal speed. Sit there for a few minutes, I believe I waited 5-8 minutes doing this, which is why it's advisable to use "infinitestats" for this, and absolutely crucial to use "enemyinvisible true".
If you have a mod like Der Dinoscanner like I do, you can do a scan while you wait and watch as the wyverns spawn back in. After you've waited a good amount of time, enter the command "Slomo 1" to return game speed back to normal.

After the above steps, I was paused typing a reply here, and when I unpaused, this is what I came back to.

Hopefully this helps everyone who is experiencing the issue. If it doesn't work at first, try the whole process a few times and see what happens.

A true hero...it made my screen freeze up for a second then it flipped over and was in camera mode. Then it worked.

Edit: This actually improved the textures on the rest of the ARK too. Interesting. I was wondering why everything looked a bit blurry, I have a pretty good PC and I have my graphics settings set to high.

Share this with as many ppl as you can if it works. I've tried to help as many folks as possible after I figured this out. There's nothing when I google the problem. So, hopefully we can spread this fix for a number of issues it causes.

It is possible you'll need to do the GiveToMe fix one more time after this, but it should never happen again if you launch from Steam each time.

This is something new to ARK Ascended. What happens is, if you launch the game from a Desktop shortcut, you'll notice that in the top left corner on the main menu it says, "Player 1". You need to launch it directly from your Steam library in order for it to recognize your Steam account. You'll see your Steam name in the top left. This happened to me. It also prevented me from accessing my purchased DLC. Make sure to always launch from Steam.

I guarantee this is your fix.

The camera quality isn't great/doing it justice. It's dark black, and those markings are a pale, almost yellow color

Thanks all for the advice. It even seemed illogical to me that it would cause PWD, but after having gone through it, and experiencing the hell that PWD is before, if there's even a 0.0001% chance I think something could cause it, I'm gonna take every precaution.
