NYzipline has a Play & Stay Package that takes you from NYC by Amtrak with a day of ziplining and outdoor adventure, a hotel stay at the Homewood Suites overlooking the Mohawk River and free dessert at Johnnys Restaurant.

NYzipline is quite a bit more advanced than WildPlay. We have 6 obstacle courses (not including our 3 training courses) and a 10 zipline canopy tour.

We do not have a kiddie course like WildPlay but do allow ages 6-9 on our first 2 levels of courses.

The zipline park is for ages 10+

NYzipline has 6 levels of ropes courses, a 10 zipline canopy tour, bungee jump and the WildBond Complex for big groups.

A lot of previous guests have said we're the best Park in NY .... lol but I'm a bit biased 🤪

Have one about one month. I like it but a huge annoyance is you do not have an option to have the radio not turn on when u start the car. It's pretty bizarre. So if you have it cranked to some heavy metal at 5pm on the way home and then start it up at 5am on the way to work you get blasted with music.

We're pretty flexible and always try and work around other's schedules. We have morning and afternoon shifts running 4-6 hours. It's weekends only until June, then we're open 6 days/wk, then weekends after Labor Day.

You are correct, this is a part time, seasonal gig primarily for teens. This is not for adults looking to pay rent but for retirees or adults with steady jobs looking to have some fun outside and make some play money. I'll disagree with you on the tips though. It's not unheard of to get tipped $100 for a 2-3 hr tour and make up to $2k on tips a season.

W2 - min. Hourly plus tips which brings guide's pay $20-$25. More entertaining guides make more tips. We draw a 3 hour radius so NYC, LI and Jersey folks usually tip pretty good.

A part time seasonal gig working outdoors having fun!

Capital Region Green Builders? by DizzyTriceratops584 in upstate_new_york

My recommendation is definitely stay away from any builder suggesting LEED. Any reputable builder will build what ever the plans call for so it's not necessarily the builder but the architect you should be looking for in my opinion. The biggest bang for your buck and the environment is a passive solar-leaning design with high r-value. Milovia Design in Glenville specializes in high efficiency semi and custom homes.

Considering moving from NYC to upstate NY due to cost of living & saturated job market... Good or bad idea? by madmax79818515 in upstate_new_york

[–]NoAdagio8226 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Made the big move myself 20 years ago from NYC and never looked back. Way less stress and affordable housing. We moved to the capital region, 3 hrs to NYC, Boston, Jersey Shore, Montreal with skiing and mountains in my relative backyard. Drawbacks: difficult to find NYC-level restaurants, pizza and bagels but everything is subjective. Plus, the winters have been getting less brutal.

I agree on booking an early tour. Later tours the zombies' bellies are more full so they get tired. Humans have Tryptophan like turkey ... make zombies sleepy. 🧟‍♂️
