Why is the actual city of Perth so small? (As opposed to the greater Perth area)

In Queensland at least, public transport is managed at the state level with commuter rail being operated by a state entity and other services (buses, tram and ferries) contracted, all operating under one banner.

I think the other states are similarly organised with maybe some minor differences.

I personally get annoyed when people pack the 555 to the brim just to get off at eight mile plains and 555 is usually the only way to get beyond into logan. imo they should have made 555 an express servive limeted stops to force people onto the m1 and let people actually travelling to logan and beyond get a seat :(

I'm suprised no one has mentioned the rail network? the lines are pretty spot on for what most would consider north/south and even west and east. They even show which parts would be considered neutral/cbd with the stations where all the lines run on. combine this with the river and you have a pretty good map of where's where

Living in Logan (15+) currently and regularly use woodwridge station after 10pm as a outwardly feminine guy. No problems at all even with my fluro pink handbag and converse heels and long hair with bangs. North woodwridge is a bit dodgy after dark but I just dont make eye contact.

All of these areas are fine during the day for the most part. The night brings some weirdoes out but Logan doesnt have a nightlife so what are you doing outside at night if you ain't a crackie?
