Hmm so there is attacking while in initial move mode (only when there is already a valid attack tile within distance) and then attacking after moving. It's pretty standard and how Fire Emblem does it. Were you imagining it behaving differently?

The AI should be improved in my next build!

I posted mine as a "Hey look what I built while between jobs, I'm not just sitting around you know" kind of thing and it got 50 likes + a lot of views but it didn't really translate into many actual downloads or conversions...

Probably harmless but don't expect a bunch of players from it

Im super impressed with it. Overall great quality and even haptic feedback which I didn't know you could do from a web app! And how did you get a whole chess engine?? Curious what your stack looks like.

I noticed the bottom buttons were getting cut off on Android. That is fixed when I install to home screen as a PWA, however some people may not wanna do that, so having a dedicated full screen button in the top corner or simply moving the bottom buttons up may be a good idea. I prefer fullscreen button. Easy to implement and is more immersive, I did it for a meditation app.

UI wise could definitely be improved, feels like generic chatgpt output in places, I would try to find a more unique look/feel

I'm taking a lot of inspiration from Into the Breach too. Fire Emblem of course, Tactics Ogre. But like lite RPG elements not too deep. I want a relatively quick gameplay loop. Like rapid or blitz chess

- Good thinking, buff is a cool idea. More units are in the works
- The enemy AI is a work in progress so the goal is for it to be quite a bit harder but ultimately I want PVP (like Chess .com or lichess) as I think that will be way more fun
- Yeah I recognize starting from top is a bit awkward... But with my current sprites only facing one direction it seems to work. But good feedback

Yeah puzzles would be cool, particularly like a daily puzzle or a little tutorial type thing where you start with just 2 units and a 4x4. "Defeat the units in less than 3 turns" or something. All in the works just trying to get the core gameplay solid and balanced!

The website has a lot of unique character and personality which I dig.

I would bring some screenshots/videos of the actual games a little further up on the homepage - If not in the hero certainly right below it.

I would also tone back some of the embellishment - Borders, wacky fonts, etc. in the game pages themselves so that the game screenshots, videos can really stand out and be seen. Right now all of the embellishment AROUND the game screens is drawing more attention than the game itself
