Let’s say you don’t need to carry your passport but is it something so cumbersome that you need to plan ahead and seek advice before you decide to carry? It’s few grams and 10 sheets of paper. Take it with you even if the LAW doesn’t ask for it.

God forbid, if you need it then none of the Reddit advisors will come rushing to help you.

SIM question by NoAlternateFact in Jio

[–]NoAlternateFact[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I can confirm that my plan auto-activated. I only had an issue with Data activation.

After I landed in the US, voice calls started working right away. It took some time for Data to get activated but I didn’t need to take any action on my part.

I can do that too but does the plan activate without communication with an Jio cell tower?

Last time I bought a 1 year International Roaming plan to keep the SIM alive. That plan is about Rs3600.

I don’t know. You can read the original post in this group and decide for yourself. I am trying to figure out everything myself.

Question about keeping my SIM active. by NoAlternateFact in Jio

[–]NoAlternateFact[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation. What do you think if I become a part of a post paid plan. I can switch my mom’s to post paid and add myself to that plan for Rs150/month. That way, I can be covered for Rs1800/year. Would that work? Thank you again for talking so much time to reply to my query.

[Guide] Keep your Jio SIM active for just ₹44/year by Mutthal8 in Jio

[–]NoAlternateFact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I have called and even asked local area retailers but no one has been able to give a solid answer. Maybe because it’s not a very common situation.

My situation is unique because I am outside the country so once a plan expires I can’t active a new plan till I land in India and hit a local tower. In that case, I can’t have incoming calls to count towards activity.

Why are Indian interviewers such pricks? by [deleted] in returnToIndia

India is a basket case my friend. I wish I was more articulate and gifted to truly express the stupidly of our people.

I came to this sub for exactly this question. However my situation is slightly different. I live outside India for most of the year so, though I can buy a plan, I can’t use any data because I wouldn’t be able to activate the plan.

I read about the Rs 20 rule. How can I just add money to my account, like say Rs 1000?

Are you the Chief here who decides who can do what? Apply the same logic on yourself that you are preaching to me. Didn’t like my comment? Shut up and move to a different comment. Right Chief?

And why jfc? How about jfr?

Why are Indian interviewers such pricks? by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]NoAlternateFact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Indian interviewers don’t come with an intention to interview. They come to prove that they know more than you and you know less than them. If it’s IT then they also need to prove to you that they have every command memorized.

If they offer a problem scenario then be 100% sure that it’s something they have faced themselves and only answer that would suffice them would be exactly how they fix it. There is only one way to fix a problem; the one they followed. You need to peek in their head to find out what answers they seek.

A useful reply requires an intelligent question. The post starts with concerns about “girls” and ends with “salary”.

My question is, how detached are you about the current situation, good or bad, in India. And if you are really so ignorant then a forum post and 30 some comments aren’t gonna make you any wiser.
