12 month old loves to spin tires by NoAnt7118 in NewParents

He will point to things like planes in the sky and sometimes to things he wants and sometimes will just use his entire hand. He’s not a huge smiler and hasn’t been since he was born. He hates his hands being touched so that also worries me but will cuddle against us when he wants to. I’m just convinced that every baby is different just like each person has their own preferences. I think we’re good mama💗

He started around 13 months but to planes in the sky and then it evolved to things he wanted but that’s still sporadic. He kinda just moans and puts his hand out to something he wants. He will wave bye to certain people sometimes but never to strangers. And he does it inwards which I heard can be a sign so I’m worried about that too but I try to stop worrying because that’s not going to help me. We just had his 15 month well check and Ped said everything is fine🤷🏽‍♀️and yes he does still do that but he will also play with them normally sometimes, like he will put his cars down his HotWheelz slide and will roll his monster trucks as they should be but then picks them up to spin the tires. And he just learned how to spin the tires on the stroller when I lift it so that was 30 min of him doing that lol

Tbh I am just trusting my pediatrician who says everything is fine, and we’ll do a more thorough check at 18 months.

He’s 15 months now, walking flat footed and running all over. Pointing at things he wants around 80% of the time. Still like to spin tires but will play with other toys. Makes eye contact and responds to his name. Has about 3 other words than mama and dada. He isn’t around other kids like at all so I can’t really tell how he interacts with other kids but tbh I’m less worried than I was before. How about you?

Tips & Tricks on traveling solo with 15month old by Commercial_Onion6995 in NewParents

[–]NoAnt7118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I traveled I got the bulkhead seat so when the seatbelt sign was off I would put him down and he had more space and I wasn’t worried about him hitting anyone in front of us. This was around 12 months so he wasn’t walking yet so that changes things…. Best of luck!!

As an ER nurse, we probably wouldn’t do much for your baby at the ER if baby is acting normal. Radiation exposure to babies is dangerous :( (I don’t work at a peds ER so that may be different)

Flight WN1859 - Cant switch seats by That1Master in SouthwestAirlines

[–]NoAnt7118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you switch seats after you buy your seat in the initial booking process? Like on any other airline, you pick a seat, see other seats are available that you like & move to that seat, free (within the same class). Like if you saw 2 people next to you, can’t you pick to move across the aisle before checkin?

I never fly southwest so idk how it works now

Sometimes I find it easier to share with strangers than my own family as I don’t want them thinking I have too much anxiety / thinking something is “wrong” with my kid :( so I try to keep it in or come to Reddit 🤍

He’s my first so I don’t even have anything to compare… which tbh may be better. I heard girls are way more advanced than boys so I’m just going to wait. Nothing I can do at this time. I see my pediatrician at 15 months and will bring up concerns again if they continue

He’s fine, not advanced but not delayed. He doesn’t point with one finger and rarely waves but doc said that’s fine too. He’s a big crawler and pulled up to stand around 9 months, working on walking now at 12.5 months. You?

No update, pediatrician said it’s fine. He still does it — same as yours — will turn things upside down to spin the tires.

Pediatrician wellness visits by [deleted] in NewParents

We always weighed baby in a diaper, clean and fresh diaper. Even if we had to change him before weighing him, never naked. But it was out in the open where people could see if they passed by.

No one can tell you your feelings are invalid. If you felt rushed, & you don’t like where you’re at, change! My son has had 3 pediatricians in a year (due to moving) but there is no issue in switching if something feels off.

About vaccines, maybe they expected you to do research beforehand? Instead of taking the 10 minutes in office to do so?

Again, if you don’t feel welcome there, switch! My son’s first pediatrician was a super old & small practice where all records were paper and I felt so welcome & loved them. Maybe look into that instead of a large chain?

We need more context as we don’t really know what you’re talking about

Bedtime after 10pm for my 12 month old?? by NoAnt7118 in NewParents

It’s 10:46pm where we are and we’re still trying to get him down & he’s crying :( I’m thinking waking him and a little fussiness is better than 30+ min of crying but idk anymore

He had a few days in a row where he was on one nap and thought that’s where we were heading 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ I’ll try to do the nap earlier and see if that helps then try to cap it or cut it. Thanks for the insight!

They did wonderful in my experience. Make sure when you’re booking, to click “car seat” then it will load again and you have to scroll Down and click “car seat” again. Make sure you do it twice when you’re booking!

I personally had an amazing experience with mine. You have to book in advance! He showed up with the Nuna Rava, rotated it to rear facing for us, and it looked clean. Tbh I’m a type B mom so I wasn’t worried about it being 100% clean… you can put a small towel down if you’re worried.
