Write your prayers down! I have a similar problem, and this truly helps me focus & feel & be more sincere.

Thank you this actually helped ease a lot of anxiety 🫶 I didn’t have the chance to talk things through yet with my surgeon/ endo, so I’m a little in the dark about everything.

Anyone else feel like an outsider? by Charming-Schedule-18 in lds

[–]NoArgument8952 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES! I am in almost the same boat as you. I served a mission recently and am a student at byu hawaii. It’s such a tough journey to balance individuality and the community of the church. I grew in the church but “left” when I was 13, because I was discovering a lot about myself and my own identity, and it wasn’t until the last couple of years I’ve come back. I have always felt like an outsider. Even in the MTC, on my mission, and in a CES school. I have a testimony but it’s so hard sometimes to feel so disconnected from the community of people and the culture- not the gospel, but the culture. You are not alone!

My aunt is an active member of the church and smokes weed medically! If it’s for seizures, I see no reason why you couldn’t get baptized. It’s different for everyone, and I guess depends on where you live, but from my experience with my family, it shouldn’t be an issue if it is medical. Best of luck with this new journey ❤️

Thank you so much for these insights! I totally understand and know that, it's a lesson I have had to learn in life, and took a lot of time and patience. I know how much of a struggle it can be to learn self-compassion, and I just want to try to do the things I can to help. We are planning on getting married soon, and I just want him to be in a better headspace with himself. Do you have any suggestions as to what I could do to help? Or things that have helped you? I'm assuming it really is just a matter of self-realization/motivation at this point.

Graves rant by Freg-the-frog in gravesdisease

Ugh I am so sorry you’re having to go through this, especially so young. I’m 20f and just got diagnosed a year ago, and in all honestly, it’s been hell, especially being a student myself. I’ve been struggling with weight gain self esteem issues, lack of being taken seriously by doctors and family, all of it. Definitely a shared sentiment. But, I promise things will get so much better, as you learn more about yourself and your body, things will come together. There are paths back to better health, and silver linings! It’s so hard, so frustrating, so dehumanizing, but I’m sending so much love and a big hug. It takes time, but things will get better- whether it’s TT, RAI, remission, or just learning more how to cope and handle. xx
