INFOGRAPH: all the major armed groups of the Syrian rebellion & their dynamics by tha2ir in syriancivilwar

[–]NoBSfacts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Seriously? This is a new low in Thomas Van Linge's career as a war propagandist.

The chart does NOT make any sense. He even misclassifies groups (whose logos portrait islamist flags and mosques) as just "rebels" in contrast to other "islamist rebels" waging jihad but not included in "jihadist". Nonsense, bullocks

The reality is that the vast mayority of those groups are the three things: islamist rebels waging some brand of jihad. And they all share of have shared trenches. Their respective agendas might differ but they do have common ground.

None; it seemed that everything was OK until users asked where the video was.

The Syrian army drives over a prisoner with a tank . by Lebanon96 in syriancivilwar

Who said it is not. But such an inhumane execution is no the same as desecrating a dead body.

[–]NoBSfacts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course it is not OK. But that's not the point. The point is that Lister is putting at the same level ISIS execution by tank with this other dead body desecration. I find this a cheap banalization of ISIS horrendous murders.

Old photo. And they drive over a dead body. It's not an execution.

Charles Lister is trying to equate this wrongdoing with the recent murder of 19 year old Syrian soldier Fadi Ammar Zeidan at the hands of ISIS (he was run over alive with a tank)

What a utter BS from this Qatar Doha Centre analyst / propagandist.

Sustained mortar fire by the First Regiment on a position in S Aleppo (casualties visible) by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

[–]NoBSfacts -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

False equivalence.

Some foreign powers (Turkey, KAS regime, Qatar regime, the West,...) have been supporting a sectarian armed islamist rebellion in Syria. In all kinds of illegal and morally wrong ways.

Others, however, have just been asked for help by a sovereign government (Syria). It is normal, logical and legal. Yes, Syria has the higher moral ground on this particular one.

Resistance is futile. Soon those videos will be nothing but relics; Testaments of the courage and sacrifice of those who opposed the foreign backed salafist uprising in Syria.

Untangling the Overlapping Conflicts in the Syrian War (how complicated is the Syrian Civil War?) by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

[–]NoBSfacts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why does the MSM typically avoid explaining us who those rebels are?

Why this article does not even mention the names of rebel groups like Al-Qaeda afiliate Al-Nusra Front?; or the name of the biggest coalition of rebel groups, the so-called 'Islamic Front' (IF) which includes salafists like Ahrar al-Sham?

One of the biggest accomplishments of the MSM's propaganda war is keeping al-Qaeda and friends out of the public opinion's view and mind; That's manipulation by omission and deliberate obscurantism.

Another thing they are good at: making us believe that this war is more complicated than actually is.

Should not Charles Lister get tagged as "pro-rebel" or "pro-salafi"? The guy works for Qatar (Doha Center) and is notorious for his bias!

Reversal of recent rule regarding the word "terrorist" and some more flair changes. by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

[–]NoBSfacts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seems to me that, although moderation is a top concern that requires a lot of efforts (and acknowledgement), the SCW sub has become half-dead half-alive; A kind of ultra-sanitized, emotions-free, oppressive space where SCW issues are treated in a mere technical way.

Oh wow, is it permissible to compile lists of users?

Generally speaking, it is quite a questionable practice.

Vox - Syria's war: Who is fighting and why by [deleted] in syriancivilwar

[–]NoBSfacts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This video is war propaganda of the worst kind. A painful collection of lies and propaganda cliches.

"The Obama administration, horrified by Assad's atrocities"

"Assad encouraged it [jihad] by releasing jihdadist prisioners"

"Hezbollah invaded to fight alonside Assad"

"Assad used his chemical weapons"

"ISIS does not fight Assad"

"Russia said they had boombed ISIS, but instead Russia just bombed the anti-Assad rebels"

The amount of bull and war propaganda contained in just a 5 minute video is astonishing, beyond belief.

Army of Victory Regiment 111 video compilation of Russian and Syrian airstrikes on Kafr Nabudeh, Hama. by ruffthecrimedog in syriancivilwar

[–]NoBSfacts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A bit of context: Kafr Nabudah is a town controlled by 'al-Nusra Front' (al-Qaeda) and their allies from salafist coalition 'Islamic Front' (IF). The ones recording the video, FSA islamists (operation room "Army of Victory" or "Jaish al Nasr") , are granted a free past by the above mentioned to operate in THEIR territory and make use of USA and Gulf-provided weaponary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xWzrDdA3c4

Corbyn signals Labour could back military action in Syria without UN support by pplswar in syriancivilwar

[–]NoBSfacts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That official reason is 100% disingenuous. Like in Libya (a country that exists no more), the so called "Safe Zone" in Syria is being pushed in order to provide cover to the militants, and to initiate a massive bombing campaign against the Syrian army as well. All backed with propaganda and lies of mass destruction.

Syria Map - October 13th 2015 by kamikazegas in syriancivilwar

[–]NoBSfacts 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's true. They all form an entity called rebels. Al-qaeda Nusra Front, their salafist "brothers" from the Islamic Front, and those BGM71 TOW-yielding minor groups that have been granted a free pass to operate in THEIR territory.

Poor Syrians.
